Saw your contributions at WP:PR (How You Get the Girl), and I thought, why not. I also have an open peer review here, but it has been handled accordingly. I'll be reviewing this in the next few days. Buckle up,and feel free to point it out when you disagree with my suggestion(s). dxneo (talk) 02:11, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
Looking forward to your review, dxneo. Heartfox (talk) 19:32, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Lead and quick facts
Columbia did not release "Vanishing" as a single from Mariah Carey.
— can I ask why?- I guess being more of a piano–vocal composition it wasn't really something tailored for radio airplay
She performed "Vanishing" live at Club Tatou in New York City and on the American television program Saturday Night Live in 1990.
— any reason why this is the only mentioned performance?- These are the performances with secondary sources supporting them. If a performance was not notable (ie not covered by secondary source) then it's not relevant to include in the article. Also, she has barely performed the song as these are like actually the only times she performed it in 1990.
- I meant why is it the only performance mentioned in the lead?
- @Dxneo: Sorry I don't understand what you mean, am I missing something from the lead? The lead does mention these 1990 performances as well as on the 1993 tour plus the live cover versions
- I meant why is it the only performance mentioned in the lead?
- Background and release
- The attached media is missing alt text.
- Added alt text
- Credits and personnel
- There should be a header here. Something like "Credits were adapted from the digital liner notes/liner notes.
- Does there? This is already understood by clicking on the citation at the end of each list.
Bub=== Bob- Thanks for catching that
Pat=== Patrick- He is named "Pat" in the liner notes so I think we should stick with the credited name
- Well, it is Patrick on Apple Music, Tidal and other streaming platforms, but it's okay.
Verdict
[edit]The only reason I picked this article was because you helped other editors at WP:PR. I truly hate reviewing article with these kind of citations cause it makes my job difficult, one of the reasons why it took me this long. I mean, even the composition is like that? Anyway, the prose is clean and it is well structured. I'm happy to pass this after you've addressed the above mentioned issues. dxneo (talk) 14:49, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- dxneo, Thank you for your time reviewing the article. I really like this reference style lol, Heartfox (talk) 02:28, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- My bad, must have missed it, you kind of streched the Live performances section. This kind of citation style is difficult to verify the intel if the reviewer does not have the book and/or the booklet. Thats the only reason why i hate it so much. Thank you for your hardwork. dxneo (talk) 00:13, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

- ... that "Vanishing" is the first song that Mariah Carey produced by herself?
- Source: Billboard: "it marks the first studio recording the legend ever produced entirely on her own"

- article is long enough, recently promoted to GA and within policy. Hook is short enough and interesting. QPQ not required. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 14:41, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
