Dividing Europe into East and West

[edit]

It makes NO sense to divide Europe to Eastern and Western in terms of flags. After all cold war is over! And by the way: Czech republic is NOT Eastern Europe! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a00:1028:96ca:4526:f9bd:6cb4:8c1f:ee5b (talk) 03:41, 1 March 2017 (UTC+9)

Merger proposal

To merge Tricolor into Triband, as the former is a subset of the latter and is an ambiguous grouping. Klbrain (talk) 12:27, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest to merge Tricolor into this article. This article talks more about the technical aspects and the other one more about the political history aspects, but the subject is almost the same. Tricolour flags are a subset of triband flags, the gallery of examples is already overlapping. Merging these articles would not make a single article too big, but would remove quote some duplicate information. PhotographyEdits (talk) 09:23, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge. Joyous! Noise! 00:31, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge. No point having two articles where major overlap could occur. Best to have just one. Paulpat99 (talk) 02:30, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge. Inclusion of all the flags can be done and in tabulated manner. I wonder why both articles aren't merged already. MrAnmol (talk) 07:50, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge.

[edit]

Ok, so I think that they should be merged PlaneCrashKing1264 (talk) 13:47, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Iowa flag

[edit]

I don't understand the distinction between the "1921-2018" Iowa flag, and the supposed "current" one. Iowa law does not dictate the style of eagle on the flag, and both of these should be legal and legitimate variations of the current flag, as per Iowa code 1B.1 166.181.82.2 (talk) 00:10, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

flag of Bolivia

[edit]

In the gallery section, the flag of Bolivia is referred to as a simple horizontal triband, which is true for the civil flag, but the image shown is of the state flag, which has the coat of arms in the middle. I didn't want to edit it, because I'm not sure if the civil flag or state flag should be shown, but the mismatched description stood out to me. Should it be changed? Flag of Utah (2024+)

[edit]

Someone has added the new flag of Utah (2024+) to the page. Does it really belong here? The top two fields are non-linear; the middle is a craggy mountain range, and the top is the sky. Shouldn't the stripes of a triband be perfectly straight / linear, aside from normal changes? The boundary between the two fields changes angle nine times. None of the other flags portrayed here show angled or curved bands. 71.175.177.174 (talk) 17:42, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Intro

[edit]

"All tricolour flags are tribands, but not all tribands are tricolour flags, which requires three unique colours." Yeah, no they're not. The Union Jack is tricolour, but it's not a triband. 86.2.61.117 (talk) 17:35, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tricolours are not simply "flags with three colours." The Cambridge dictionary defines them as "a flag that is divided into three equal parts of different colour." ―Panamitsu (talk) 22:10, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
