I mention WP:FRUIT. If a usually reliable source (like Screen Rant) is reporting on information from an unreliable source (MakingStarWars.net in this case), then that reliable source can't be used. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:29, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted to explain this here in case this is brought up or others are curious/concerned. I have removed the logo (File:The Mandalorian & Grogu logo.jpg) that was on this article because, after some investigation, it appears to be a fan made one and not an officially released logo from Disney. There are two different versions of this logo out there, one traces to this random tweet (which the author claims was "allegedly" the logo here) while the one currently uploaded file traces to the Disney Fandom wiki, apparently as an altered version of the other one. The only official logo I can tell that was released was captured by IGN at D23, as seen here, although this is not the best quality for use on Wikipedia. Disney has also not released the logo on their press site (unlike other IPs such as some upcoming Marvel titles), nor is it featured in any press announcement for this film on their website. To avoid starting an edit war. I've removed the genre categories and genres in the lead per MOS:TVGENRE which states All genre classifications throughout the article, including in the lead, should be reliably sourced and comply with Wikipedia's due weight policy and represent what is specified by a majority of mainstream reliable sources.. While I do not doubt it could be some or most of the genres listed, we have no sources backing it up, so we should not include them per the manual of style. To clarify, films should follow in suit, per MOS:FILMGENREGenre classifications should comply with WP:WEIGHT and reflect what is specified by a majority of mainstream reliable sources.Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:42, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is likely that we will be able to restore the Space Western genre to the lead but we can hold off until there is a source explicitly calling the film that instead of the series. We don't need any additional sources to support all the generic genre categories that have been added as standard practice to the article, they are all clearly applicable and non-controversial. - adamstom97 (talk) 10:33, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
