Ectrodactyly as a genotype?
[edit]Is there an association between the black protagonist having "three toes on each foot" and the phenomenon of ectrodactyly among the Vadoma? -- Deborahjay (talk) 19:00, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Suggestions for Expanding the Article
[edit]This article could likely benefit from a section detailing the film's core themes/a more fleshed out plot summary. In particular, some scenes in the movie, including the first scene with the Brother on Ellis Island, the magic trick, a few of the monologues given by characters at the bar, have greater subtext that might be beneficial to explore. For instance, the manner in which the film addresses notions of Black history in the wake of gentrification in Harlem is quite compelling (can discuss scene recounting slavery in the history museum), and the movie's general comments on immigration might also warrant a standalone section of the Wiki page. The idea of silence is also integral to the film, with the Brother's inability to speak a potential commentary on the manner through which minorities are silenced in the U.S. I hope some of these suggestions help, and I am open to any advice/differing interpretations on how best to improve the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BagoChippington (talk • contribs) 03:48, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
