Drew Field merger

- It's not very large, and you can certainly merge it yourself; the drew field article is just a small sentence, simply add the sentence to the history section (unless it's already there), and then turn the article into a redirect. Older/Current Airside
[edit]Ok I know this may be someone's pet project, but this whole old airside current airside thing is just garbage. It's not really relevant at all. Plus it does not fit in with Wikiproject Airports article structure. Keep the current airside info for the destinations, and relegate the rest to the bin. I'm posting this as courtesy before I go and edit myself skyskraper 15:20, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
The Old Airsides thing was actually my idea and I plan on shoving the info into it's own article in a couple days. It may not be seen as appropriate for the main article, but I believe the information is still a part of the airport's history and deserves a place in wikipedia. Split Original Airsides Section Proposal
[edit]Here you may voice your opinion as to whether to keep the "Original Airsides" section in the main article, split it into it's own article (title is still undetermined), or trash the section altogether. I would perfer that the section be split into it's own article. However, I will allow several weeks to allow input before I take any action. Wslupecki 17:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC).
- Keep it here, I'm pretty sure that giving it it's own article will set it on the AFD train, the information is notable in relation to this article, but not on its own. Also, you may want to put the current airsides first, not the older ones, since current airlines and gates is information a user would want first, and in its current form it's a bit hidden. Follow-Up 3/4/07
[edit]Well, it seems that very little input has been placed regarding the split proposal. Oh well. I will first thank those who did place their suggestions. Second, I will swap old and current airsides sections for now. However, I will keep the discussion open for anyone who may have further opinions regarding the section. Furthermore, If the "Original Airsides" section conflicts with meeting the standards of WikiProject Airports, I will split the section immediately. Airside D
[edit]For those who may be confused about the future of Airside D, the building is currently in the demolition process, which may be complete by summer 2007. The site will then be converted into an overnight aircraft hardstand, similar to that of Airside B. Eventually, a replacement control tower and component facilities will be built on the Airside D site as part of preparation for the construction of the North Terminal Complex. However, An 8 to 10 gate replacement terminal for Airside D could be built alongside the tower in the future if capacity for the North Terminal is exceeded. Such a replacement is probably not likely until 2020 or beyond though. Wslupecki 22:10, 27 February 2007 (UTC).
Parking rates are going up again
[edit]Unfortunately, it is that time again for TPA Airport to raise it's parking fees for all the garages. According to this Tampa Tribune article, the increase is needed to help compensate costs for the Remote Garage. Though the increase is not really too bad of a thing, if the plan is approved, the new parking rates would like this.
- Short Term: $20.00
- Short Term (Valet): $25.00
- Long Term: $15.00
- Remote Economy: $9.00

Art Inside The Airport.

Northwest to move operations to Airside E during spring/summer 2009
[edit]I noticed during my visit to TPA that the Northwest ticketing counter had been reduced by roughly 35%. I then asked one of the ticketing agents about what Delta had in mind as to future gate assignments for Delta. Her response was that Delta intends to merge Northwest's current operations in Airside A into Delta's operations in Airside E, thus all Delta/Northwest departures/arrivals will eventually take place in Airside E only by the middle to late of this year. Airside E "Closed for Good"?
[edit]In the section "The 1971 Terminal" the second to last paragraph says "Upon completion of the renovations, the airlines returned to their original locations and Airside E was closed for good." This sentence is confusing. While I hung around TPA in the mid-70's, I have only flown into there 10 or so times since then, so I can't confirm or deny this statement, but based on the rest of the text, Airside E does not seem closed for good. Someone more familiar with the current airport should consider editing the paragraph so it's not confusing. Just my $.02. Mjzwick (talk) 14:52, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Cargo Destinations
[edit]What makes a cargo destination? A user deleted all but one (MEM) as a list of destinations, despite FedEx having flown to all the destinations he deleted, usually during peak cargo season.

Amazon Air - Protected Edit Request

Missing routes - edit request
[edit]Swift Air runs a weekly Holguin charter flight, which is missing. This can be verified on the Havana Air website, which sells the HAV/HOG/SNU flights. Swift Air also operates the Punta Cana seasonal charter for Vacation Express, but VE is no longer running Cancun. Is it possible to differentiate the Vacation Express and Havana Air flights? This is a confusing mixture of two different branded services.
