Ted Angle
[edit]I placed in two citations - from Time and the Nevada government - as sources about her husband's career. I think he may be notable enough for his own article. Comments? Bearian (talk) 16:23, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- I received an email request, from a third party, not to create an article about this person, who, while notable, wishes to retain his privacy. I did not care about the tone of the email, but I agree with the substance of the request. Bearian (talk) 22:10, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think people can request that Wikipedia not have an article about them. If one is created and they have some concerns about it they can contact the Wikimedia Foundation (see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help). Sean.hoyland - talk 04:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- Having said that, I don't think he qualifies for an article per WP:PEOPLE so it's probably not an issue right now. Sean.hoyland - talk 05:18, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- In any case, Ted's campaigning for his wife and is becoming a public figure. If she gets elected, it is likely that he will pass WP:GNG. Bearian (talk) 17:14, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
I've been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly
[edit]What? Its a direct quote from her. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20019924-503544.html Is it worth researching this claim? Is it relevant to her political/personal section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.123.4.230 (talk) 20:18, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- All I have to add is Angle tells Hispanic students they look Asian. Bearian (talk) 23:18, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
She might have encountered discrimination because of her Asian or mixed race appearance. Taken in that context her comments have a different meaning.

Relationship with Canada
[edit]An editor removed this section, which describes how the Canadian Ambassador has complained to Angle for claiming that the 911 terrorists entered the U.S. through Canada, calling it "Not notable POV edit".[1] But similar information is included in the Janet Napolitano article.[2] It seems notable and neutral to me and I will re-instate it. TFD (talk) 05:07, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Agree with above comment by The Four Deuces (talk · contribs). -- Cirt (talk) 05:15, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
To be fair to Angle she did not mention Canada and I suspect she meant merely that the terrorists came through a Northern point of entry (presumably an airport). I do not think that this is an international of matter of relations with Canada and I just presume that the ambassador was just seeking clarification of her comments (which the Canadian press have sensationalized (as the press often does). I changed the title to remove "relations" which I think are not really at issue.--Hauskalainen (talk) 07:34, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Tag to top of page - lede
[edit]Per WP:LEAD, the lede/intro of the article should be able to function as an adequate stand-alone summary of the entire article's contents. This article's lede/intro fails that. Tagged with lede too short. -- Cirt (talk) 14:04, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Robocalls
[edit]Yes, it's silly, but I'm not sure why Boone's endorsement or apparent (unsourced) recording of "robocalls" for Sharron Angle is notable or particularly relevant to this article. It might be worth adding to the "Poltics" section on Pat Boone's article, but it just seems arbitrary here except as a way to subtly imply that Angle is not a "serious" candidate. Angle has received many endorsements, but it would be tedious and unnecessary to add them all to this article. Uncle Dick (talk) 18:00, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- I made a few edits to better integrate this material into the article. The unsourced "robocall" information has been removed per WP:BLP and Pat Boone's endorsement has been moved up into a list of other endorsements. I think this addresses my concerns for the most part, although I still find the arbitrary listing of endorsements troubling. Perhaps someone (me?) should take the time to create a comprehensive list of endorsements? Uncle Dick (talk) 18:34, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- The endorsements are all at United_States_Senate_election_in_Nevada,_2010#Angle. I am not sure if the robocall issue is serious either. Another editor inserted the issue, unsourced, but it's been all over the blogosphere (which are not reliable sources). I think it's a tempest in a teapot. Bearian (talk) 19:48, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
- The list of endorsements from the primary election needs to be updated to include general election endorsements (like Sarah Palin). Harry Reid could also use a list, but it's tedious work and no one will care after next Tuesday anyway. Uncle Dick (talk) 20:01, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
