Stettin Palver

[edit]

Is Preem Palver a possibe decendent of Stettin Palver AND/OR Wanda Seldon? - Plau 13:22, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Asimov's intent was yes, he's a descendent; although Preem appears in books written several decades before the other two were invented. 69.248.200.36 (talk) 00:27, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Preem Palver, First Speaker

[edit]

In the last paragraph, "In fact, Palver's name literally means 'first speaker'." Which language is this? 125.60.185.151 15:13, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should remove that part. There is no source, and I can't find any language where Preem Palver means "First speaker". 216.13.39.93 (talk) 17:23, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's more of a pun or foreshadowing hint than a direct translation. Preem for prime, and Palver for Palaver, or possibly the Spanish palabra or Portugeuse 'palavro. I added a bit about this to the page. 69.248.200.36 (talk) 00:26, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
