Splitting?
[edit]Hi @The Anome:,
I see you've suggested splitting this article. In what article(s) would you like to see this being split up? I'm not too familiar with the subject of machine learning in video games, but I think the current state of the article is pretty good, and the article's size doesn't seem cumbersome. Thoughts? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:57, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- What I'm suggesting is to split it into firstly, an article on the use of machine learning in playing video games from the outside (for example, the use of ML to play Atari games, DeepMind's efforts on Starcraft II), and secondly, an article on the use of machine learning on the inside, as part constructing video games themselves (NPC AI, scene synthesis, animation...). Both are sufficiently broad topics to be worth an article in themselves. There's relatively little overlap, and where there is (for example NPC AI), the emphasis is sufficiently different to justify its appearance in different forms in subsections of both articles, with see-also cross-references between the two. -- The Anome (talk) 12:22, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
