[edit]It needs citations for blanket statements like "The KNU is a democratic organisation, and supports human rights and democracy in Burma." Right now, it reads like a propaganda press release by the KNU, and not a credible Wikipedia article. Hybernator (talk) 16:16, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- The KNU is a democratic organisation, and supports human rights and democracy in Burma.
That is a demand for the sponsors (USA and Norway). Their ethnic groups are a traditional democracy, a analogous to Switzerland, but matriarchy, not patriarchy as Switzerland. They had try to make a independent state in many years, but drop that in 2008, because that was without sponsors and because a independent stat was poor and exposed for Burmese despots. As democratic women from a minority, they have a obvious personal interest in human rights and democracy in Burma.Haabet 10:36, 17 July 2010 (UTC)- Not sure what your point is. The KNU is not an organization for "democratic women from a minority", or a "matriarchy". (Seems to me that it's a totally male-dominated organization.) Provide citations from well known sources that deem the KNU as a democratic organization. (I haven't seen any credible news source willing to make that claim even if they are sympathetic to the cause of the Karen, and the ethnic minorities.) The article still reads like a KNU press release. Hybernator (talk) 16:01, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

- Where does anyone of these stories say the KNU is a democratic organization? Or that it's committed to democracy? Hybernator (talk) 18:40, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Democracy is talk and more talk and endless talk. They had talk by all and get support from USA to make Democracy in Burma. Zipporah Sein is expert on human right. Haabet 19:42, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Note: No two democratic organizations are alike. KNU has survived 60 years of decline, by having good morals, good morals are created by being a democratic organization.Haabet 17:23, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
