Juozapas Albinas HerbačiauskasJózef Albin Herbaczewski – Most of his works are written in Polish, and are signed "Józef Albin Herbaczewski". His Lithuanian works are signed as either "[Jouzapas Herbačevskis https://polona2.pl/item/kur-eini-lietuvi,MTExNjk4ODM1/4/#info:metadata]" or "[Jouzapas Gerbačauskis https://polona2.pl/item/erskeciu-vainikas,OTgwODA4NjA/8/#info:metadata]", not Juozapas Albinas Herbačiauskas. Oppose Considering he had to suffer repression for Lithuanian nationalist activities like book-smuggling and it's also clearly stated in the article that Herbačiauskas considered himself a herald of the Lithuanian cause, I'll say that a Lithuanian name is more fitting.--+JMJ+ (talk) 13:48, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well he was also forced to leave Lithuania for being "too Polish", and many Lithuanian intellectuals considered him to be "fake Lithuanian", I don't think it's that simple. Nonetheless he died in Poland, nad published mainly in Polish Marcelus (talk) 20:49, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment What do English reliable sources use more? Use that. Debate over whether he was more X or Y is generally a bad idea, as those tend to never get to an agreeable place. Curbon7 (talk) 10:18, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
