[edit]I uploaded the author portrait from Wikicommons, believing it to be fair use, but now I see there's a named photographer. Can anyone help out by uploading a more suitable image, please? ArthurTheGardener (talk) 12:46, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Are you saying that you're User:JDianneDotson, or did you simply mean "including" when you said "uploading"? Aaron Liu (talk) 14:53, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I meant "inserting," and not "uploading." I'm not connected to her; I just saw she didn't have a page when I was editing Gareth Powell's article. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 11:43, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... The author is a Nebula nominee with a recognizable body of work. I see no valid reason that the page (which was reviewed and approved by my mentor) should be deleted. - I've removed the notice; thanks for following its instructions. I have no idea why two people have created new accounts just to delete this page... Aaron Liu (talk) 13:40, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
- The subject of this page is a self-published author with minimal micro-press publishing history. Someone needs to clearly explain why this person requires a Wikipedia page. Nominations for awards are not notable, especially as they are made by the public and were presumably, in these instances, made by her husband. This page is clearly self-promotional with content supplied by the subject. It qualifies for speedy deletion. Thestingsauce (talk) 15:17, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
- In my opinion, being nominated for a Nebula award and two BSFA awards is sizable enough to possibly satisfy "significant critical attention", and definitely enough for a WP:credible claim of significance. It is definitely not enough for A7, and if you still think this isn't notable enough, take it to WP:AfD. I also highly doubt that Arthur is Jendia Gammon owing to his other interests, and I again urge you to WP:assume good faith.Again, I'm curious what motivated you to find this article and create an account because you wanted to delete it.
