IMY's work isn't my expertise, but someone should perhaps add something on her importance: she was, after all, a major player in feminist and communitarian multicultural thought.--Sam Clark 17:53, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The press release states that she died on August 1, not July 31. Does anybody have a reference?Trnj2000 22:32, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I got the news in a message from Alison Jagger to Philos-l (an announcement email-list for professional philosophers). The date given there was 31 July, and that's what various blog entries written on 1 August and found through google say, too (see e.g. this). While I'm here: I notice that the basic text for the article is Young's official biography from the University of Chicago's website (here). Isn't this a copyright violation? Cheers, --Sam Clark 10:27, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More on DoD: there seems to be general confusion about this, with most of the blog announcements saying 31st, but the official announcement from U of Chicago saying 1st. Perhaps she died in the early hours of the morning. --Sam Clark 12:18, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
