InfiniBrowser is not malicious

[edit]

@Tunesol can you please explain why do you keep reverting the change?

The website https://infinibrowser.zptr.cc/ was falsely flagged as "malicious" by AVG Antivirus. You can check the website on VirusTotal, which says that no security vendors flagged the website as malicious. I checked AVG Antivirus myself, and the website is not blocked by them. Zptr1 (talk) 15:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your website was flagged by avg as malicious. I don't know what changes you made and I don't care. What interests me is the proper functioning of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a place where you can advertise your website by changing reference links. Everything you are doing is against the fundamental rules of wikipedia, so stop destroying the work we are all doing. Tunesol (talk) 16:19, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not too sure if you are really interested in the proper functioning of Wikipedia or "the work we are all doing". The only changes you did on Wikipedia is add a website to this article, and keep reverting the changes, just so your link gets to stay. Could you be the one who made the website?
I admit, I am also at fault for getting involved despite the website being mine - but I was not the one who added it. I was informed by someone from Infinite Craft Discord about your reversal, so I contacted AVG Antivirus myself a few weeks ago, and they told me the website was never flagged by them. I did not know at the time that I am not allowed to get involved, so I made an account and reverted the change.
But that does not mean you are allowed to link your own website either, or keep undoing other's edits for no reason. Is there even a reason to link the website in the first place? This situation looks like you just want to advertise your website to get money from ads - as there are quite a lot of them on your site. You also changed a link from an article to your website because it was "spam (ai content)" - which does not look like spam to me at all. Zptr1 (talk) 16:53, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I just realized that the text referenced "Planet", and the linked website had the recipe for "Sunflower" instead. But you could've just changed the link to the same website, as they also have a recipe for Planet here. Zptr1 (talk) 17:01, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if this came as aggressive, I was having a bad day. I just found this edit, so the website you removed indeed looks like a spam. Sorry about that.
But what I also found by searching the website's domain is your reddit account, where you keep replying to posts with the website in question. This is, of course, not definitive proof, but even more suspicion to believe that you are the author of the website. Zptr1 (talk) 18:39, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, this website isn't mine, it's just the first result on Google. I tried just to help, i don't have time to answer all of this. Once an admin steps in, it's their responsibility to fix the problem. If your website was falsely reported as malicious, I apologize in advance, but again, I just tried to help. Tunesol (talk) 19:10, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I saw this exchange and just wanted to chime in. Would there be any disadvantage to including both links as references? Instead of repeatedly changing between the two, an addition of a new reference to satisfy both sides would be good in my opinion. Also I don’t agree with your attitude of “I don’t care” — the proper functioning of Wikipedia is a respectful community that approaches problems with communication and compassion. Thanks, Splatterxltalk 17:20, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, the website mentioned (https://infinitecraftrecipe.com/) is not mine, it's just the first result that comes up on Google. The user changed the references I had added, and when I visited his website, my antivirus flagged it as malicious. I'm not sure if it was a false report or if the site indeed had some malicious content. To protect users, I reverted the references back to their original state. I apologize for my earlier phrase, "I don't care." I was only trying to help, but this user keeps changing the references repeatedly, likely because they want to advertise their website. Thanks for stepping in, i was looking for a way to find an admin, but since I'm new to Wikipedia, I didn't know how. Since you are more experienced, i leave the solution of the problem to you. Tunesol (talk) 19:09, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I was not trying to advertise the website. As I said, I was not the one who added the website. Someone else did, and later someone contacted me through Discord telling me that you removed the website because an antivirus flagged the website. I am not a Wikipedia editor and I never edited anything before this case. I created this account just to revert the change because I didn't want my IP to be leaked, and I did not know that it is not allowed to edit anything related to myself or my work. I apologize for that, advertisement was not my intent at all. And I'm sorry for my rude reply earlier. Zptr1 (talk) 20:02, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to start by saying I'm not an admin, but I do have some technical knowledge and after confirming through some different website scanners and personally checking the source, I've confirmed that the website is not malicious. I agree that they shouldn't have added it directly due to maintaining it themselves. However, I've looked at both websites and Infinite Craft Browser does indeed contain more information so I've added it in as an additional reference. I've left the original Infinite Craft Recipes link in, in case readers want to decide for themselves which to visit. In my personal opinion I the latter seems very low quality and would be for its removal, but to avoid this edit war all over again I've decided to keep both. I hope this resolves the problem. Thanks, Splatterxltalk 16:18, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello everyone - Just wanted to offer my thoughts on this as well.
For starters, InfiniBrowser (https://infinibrowser.zptr.cc/) is not malicious - I've run it through VirusTotal and it seems to be perfectly fine. I think only AVG is detecting a false positive for this website as being malicious.
Secondly, Infinite Craft Recipe is an unreliable and outdated source. It still says the term "slave" can be formed with "ant" and "farmer." This recipe does not work anymore. The creator of the game has removed the more controversial terms like "slave" or "hamas" from the game due to obvious reasons. On the other hand, InfiniBrowser offers a warning that "slave" has been censored and will no longer work.
For this reason, I think Infinite Craft Recipe should be removed from the citations list due to its unreliability. I will not remove the citation just yet - if anyone has disagreeing opinions please let me know. If not, I will check back in a few days and remove it then.
As a heads-up, I am in no way related to either InfiniBrowser or Infinite Craft Recipe - My intentions are not to promote either platform, I simply want to keep the citations as reliable and updated as possible. Justanotherinternetguyt@lk 14:09, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Similarity to other game

[edit]

It could be noted that the game mechanics and starting elements are nearly identical to the game Genesis! by Orteil. 2620:8D:8000:1074:B825:4FA2:5A8:2A0 (talk) 14:46, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Got any sources? TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 18:51, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Other than the game itself, no, but the similarities are pretty obvious. 129.21.255.105 (talk) 20:17, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... afraid I can't put that in. It would be original research, and that source is primary. TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 20:23, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are a several other games with similar concept to Infinite Craft beside Genesis I think,
There are Little Alchemy (1 and 2), Doodle God, Element (3 and 4) 2001:448A:6040:7930:FCF2:6C2C:5E34:4D4C (talk) 13:03, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
True, but we would need references from reliable sources to prove they're similar. TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 13:53, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also allchemy.io, which came before Infinite Craft. Joel Brennan (talk) 01:04, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
