Re the removal of dates: giving the lifespan of a biography subject's parents and spouse 1. identifies them from others of the same name, 2. shows whether they died before the biography subject, that aspect being an important part of their lives. In this case, it matters because her second husband was very much younger than her, and bearing in mind the inscription on her gravestone, the second husband was possibly misled about her age, so there is a contrast between her two relationships.
