Talk:Electoral history of Joe Biden

The headline says he ran twice before, but the article says he ran in 1984, 1988, and 2008.

[edit]

I'd change it myself, but there might be a rationale that discounts one of the results since the introduction explicitly omits 1984. Was 1984 an 'informal run'?Ghostwo 17:17, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Biden has NOT been elected to the presidency. He is NOT the president-elect. To say so is to purvey misinformation. No state has yet certified him as a winner. Multiple states are slated for re-counts, and Biden will most likely lose the majority that the Associated Press and other news outlets are currently reporting. Wikipedia is acting in concert with the news outlets in what appears to be a coup against the voters of the United States. Wikipedia must alter its entry about Joe Biden and the 2020 presidential election. 47.183.142.79 (talk) 01:16, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Hi there, countless sources are attributing the win to him. Far more than are refuting it including sources from outside of the US such as UK, Australian, Swedish media outlets that don't really have a vested interest in swaying the result. Should the appeal be allowed and the numbers change, this will be rescinded. But for now, Wikipedia is following the majority of sources in lieu of alternative numbers being published. If it alters any response you wish to make, I am not American. — IVORK Talk 04:52, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

INTRODUCTION

[edit]

The first sentence is not factual. Election results have not been confirmed and Joe is not the president elect yet.

Joe Biden is not President Elect until January 21st, 2021, after his inauguration. So get your facts straight. Until that day arrives he is not the next president of the United States. 2601:681:5901:6050:9A1:946A:DA77:25C5 (talk) 23:20, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done It's not clear what specific change you are requesting. President-elect is a term that usually refers to the period before the inauguration. TimSmit (talk) 02:10, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
