- ... that after accepting the job of team physician for the Green Bay Packers in 1962, Dr. E. S. Brusky was not paid a salary for at least the first 9 years of his tenure with the team? Source: "Brusky wasn't paid beyond expenses for almost 10 years"

Brusky; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Article newly moved to mainspace, is long enough and with proper references. It was a short but interesting read. I'd say the "
He was hired after another doctor, Mason LeTellier, gave a recommendation to Packers head coach Vince Lombardi while they were golfing
" part also would've been an interesting hook, but the current one is fine as well and checks out with the ref. One minor thing to note is that the death date is given in the lead but nowhere to be seen in the article body (despite there being sources that confirm it). Styyx (talk) 18:45, 18 December 2023 (UTC)- Thanks Styyx, I added his death to the body of the article. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:21, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Styyx and Gonzo fan2007: I see the hook fact in the article and the citations. The reference claims unpaid almost ten years.
Brusky wasn't paid beyond expenses for al most 10 years
. I think we are safe to say at least 9. Bruxton (talk) 15:13, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

[edit]- who both immigrated from Poland As I understand it, one emigrates from a country and immigrates to a country, so "emigrated" here. I know the source uses "immigrated", but googling immigrate vs. emigrate does suggest "emigrated" is more standard.
- started a small clinic You can wikilink clinic.
- delivering babies, orthopedics and surgery I think that delivering babies is technically obstetrics. You could wikilink both that and orthopedics.
- which included an x-ray machine You can wikilink x-ray machine.
- Brusky was embroiled in a small controversy I associate "embroiled" with something more serious than a small controversy. Also, I'm not sure we should say "small" at all unless the cited source use that word? Perhaps just "Brusky was involved in a controversy" and let the reader decide how big it was.
- It might be worth mentioning that Brusky and the president stated the controversy wasn't the cause of his retirement the next year, as sources 2 and 3 say this, and the reader may be wondering.
- they had 13 children together I think they had 14, based on source 1. It says he will be missed by 13 children, but later states that a 14th preceded him.
- Source 6 isn't available in my region, and the archived url only shows the Chicago Tribune front page, rather than a specific article. Perhaps the original being unavailable to me is causing the problem with the archived version as well? Just check that you can see both versions; if so, no problem.
- Weird, it is still available to me. I removed the archive and added url-access = limited. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 23:06, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
No problems otherwise. It's a short article, but the subject's role was less glamorous than most in franchise halls of fame, and you've given it a thorough treatment. Harper J. Cole (talk) 20:52, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Harper J. Cole for the review. All changes addressed. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 23:06, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm in the UK, which probably accounts for the access issues. I've checked 7 out of 8 citations, which I believe is fine for GA status. I'll promote now. Harper J. Cole (talk) 23:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
