German noble titles after 1918

[edit]

The article lacks any understanding of the legal situation in Germany. Since the abolition of the monarchy in 1918, noble titles are no longer in existence but have become part of the family name. Therefore it is not possible to translate them (as if they still were titles). Donata Herzogin von Mecklenburg is not (and never was) "Duchess of Mecklenburg", and at the time of her birth, her father`s name was Christian Ludwig (not Louis!) Herzog von Mecklenburg (not Duke of Mecklenburg) and her mother`s name was Barbara Prinzessin von Preußen (not Princess of Prussia). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.15.128.93 (talk) 20:08, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
