Area covered

Did the Central Legislative Assembly represent all of India, or only British India? That is to say, were representatives elected by people living in the princely states, or only by those under direct British authority? john k (talk) 16:38, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The CLA represented only British India till 1946. The Govt of India Act 1937 created a new federal legislature which never came into being. --Salilb (talk) 07:34, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
