The show (or episodes FROM the show) were aired in the past on Sci-Fi Channel. If someone knows the dates, or even a year, could a brief mention of this be added?

Food vs. fuel Episode of Ark II

[edit]

In one of the episodes of Ark II (I do not remember which one), the team encounters a settlement where the inhabitants are ruled/terrorized by a motorcycle gang.

Jonah, knowing that gasoline (to fuel the motorcycles) is scarce or nonexistent, determines that the gang fuels their motorcycles with ethanol and that the gang expropriates agricultural produce from the inhabitants to distill ethanol. Thus, creating an artificial shortage of agricultural produce that causes hunger and starvation amongst the inhabitants.

It is incredible that a children's TV show from 1976, would be able to foresee our modern-day Food vs. fuel debate.
