"La Novia"
[edit]Gala Montes is the new "Novia de México", even if Angélica Vale thinks otherwise. https://www.razon.com.mx/entretenimiento/fotos-impactantes-gala-montes-nueva-novia-mexico-589892 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.212.71.63 (talk) 04:19, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- Article covers her whole life. What is in it now reflects what is sourced in the article. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:24, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
German ancestry
[edit]Does anyone have a source that she's of significant German ancestry? I've removed the category until someone provides one. JackO'Lantern 05:12, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
I have seen her speak on a program about being of German descent. I liken this to this when my Mother told me Anthony Quinn was Mexican American when I was a snot-nosed brat. I did not believe her until years later when I read up a little more on him. Just because I did not know something that my mother did (because their family lived about two miles from mine), I learned a lesson. Since that time, when I ate crow, I have endeavored to learn more about the man because of his descent lineage. I would think that someone of German heritage would feel the same way learning Angélica María is of German descent - *but*, if the Germans don't want to claim her, I know the other races will. Ronbo76 05:10, 5 December 2006 (UTC) Sorry, Hartman is not really German, it's a jewish lastname. She never talks about it and she's been raised a Christian. The same applies to her daughter.
Link no longer here?
[edit]There was a link to the fact that Angélica María performed twice at the Madison Square Garden (while pregnant) and the sell-outs. It is gone now. I remember seeing the link and had heard of it previously. Is it possible for someone, a bot or other thing to edit out an article in this manner? Ronbo76 05:02, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Link for selling out Madison Square Garden twice in one night 1975 is in her biography
[edit]I just visited Angélica María's website that is listed in her Wikipedia reference area. There it says directly almost the same words that appear here. "Trabajando por el continente, La Novia, dio la noticia de su embarazo, e impuso un record en Nueva York, llenando 2 veces el mismo día el "Madison Square Garden", que hasta la fecha, tampoco, alguien lo ha vuelto a hacer." Fair use rationale for Image:Corazon salvaje 1968 monica juan.PNG
[edit]Image:Corazon salvaje 1968 monica juan.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:37, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Someone should add some pictures of her. She's a famous person and I think that's not proper. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris7cn (talk • contribs) 16:12, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

I feel that this article approaches the GA-Class articles class status. For the most part this article is well written, thorough and is definitive. Could it be improved - yes. But to the casual reader, a wealth of facts has been presented almost if someone were reading a mini-biography of her life. It reads like a fan has captured a number of news worthy events and presented them to the general readership. Since this concerns a Mexican actress, who would probably received limited English press, this article would be outstanding in my humble opinion but I would reserve that rating until someone else within the Wikipedia community deems it worthy. Year of birth
[edit]There are 2.

Nationality context in lead
[edit]Per MOS:CONTEXTBIO, country of birth is irrelevant to why notable so doesn't go in lead, all notable activities were in Mexico. Mention of her birth in the US and why she ended up in Mexico as a young child are covered in the early life section. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:51, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- Look, I already told you everything that I have left several summaries of past editions about some Latin celebrities who were born in the United States and did film, television and music work activities both in the United States and in Latin America, only I didn't understand anything what the Manual of Style says about how it is applied based on what the use of dual citizenship establishes regarding the issue of news references, but apparently I think it doesn't exist or it lacks some transparency and they are messing up the short description that I just finished. of correct said nationality and said occupation and the categories that I ordered alphabetically as well. 190.167.135.131 (talk) 00:20, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- We only list both nationalities in the intro sentence if there is notable work in both places. See the examples at MOS:CONTEXTBIO. It doesn't matter that she was born in the US, she left and moved to Mexico - she is a Mexican actress based on where she resided, what she has done and where she did it, not an American actress. Also her birth name won't be "Angélica María Hartman Ortiz". That is her legal name in Mexico, not the name registered on her US birth certificate where maternal surnames are not listed. Ordering categories is OK and would be no issue if that was all that was done in the edits. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:29, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- And the same thing happened with Anya Taylor-Joy, the dual citizenship that was in dispute appears and was suddenly removed in the opening sentence without having a clear reason not to start an editing war with multiple users on the same topic if it had not been resolved any doubt as to how that edition will be maintained or not.190.167.135.131 (talk) 00:30, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- This article has listed her as a Mexican actress since it was created. That is what she is widely known as. Any controversy is recent. There is no dispute about dual citizenship, the only issue is what goes in intro and the Manual of Style is clear in this case that Mexican is all that matters . Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:42, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ok. 190.167.135.131 (talk) 00:51, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- So I wouldn't mind if several of the articles were reversed as they were before the dispute over the short description that, for example, the dual citizenship of Latino celebrities who were born in the United States and carry out their activities in their respective Latin American countries that do not go all together so that the nationality goes alone without having to make a mess. 190.167.135.131 (talk) 01:00, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Each article needs to be examined for the specific situation. If things are disputed, a discussion on the talk page to work out what to do should always be done, but we should keep to the Manual of Style unless there is a consensus to not follow it for a specific case. The case for Anya Taylor-Joy is illustrative - see the talk page for that article and potential triple citizenship and how to handle it was the issue.
