Shantel Christine Jackson (born July 25, 1985) is an American businesswoman, actress and socialite. She is the founder and inventor of Shoe Gummi, an American outsole pad technology designed for high heel comfort..[1], founded in 2014 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Shantel has developed a significant presence online and across numerous social media platforms, including millions of followers across Instagram and Tik Tok.

Early Life

Shantel Jackson was born in Coconut Grove, Miami, FL. Shantel studied television production at William H. Turner Technical Arts High School. She is the middle child of 5. Her mother is African American and American Indian and her father is Irish and Scottish.

Entrepreneurship

In 2014, Shantel filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for her outsole innovation Shoe Gummi. In 2017 she was granted the patent US9615630B2.[2]. A method for modifying a high heel shoe to reduce the angulation of the wearer's foot includes obtaining an external pad defining an outer contour and having a top surface, the external pad being at least as large as the area of the toe region outsole that contacts the ground when a wearer walks and having a thickness within the range of one half inch to two inches. The toe region of the shoe outsole is cleaned and the external pad is affixed to the toe region of the shoe outsole. The outer contour of the external pad is trimmed to conform to the outer contour of the outsole[3]

In 2018, Shantel founded Fanci Goods, an American beauty accessories company with lashes, lash accessories and plush headbands.

Modelling and Acting

Shantel began modelling at the age of 16, she was signed to Tysum Talent Agency in Miami. She starred in commercials and got her first role in Freelancers (2012), Here Without You and I Want It All. In 2021, she starred in The Lady Makers film[4]

Reality TV

In 2014, Shantel starred in the reality television series Nellyville[5]. She appeared in the E! reality television series The Platinum Life in 2017 a show about the wives and girlfriends of famous musicians alongside LoLa Monroe, Nazanin Mandi, Alycia Bella, Asiah Collins, La'Myia Good and Crystal Smith.

In 2021 Shantel appeared on E! Reality television show Celebrity Game Face with American actor and comedian Kevin Hart and his wife challenge other celebrity couples to games that they can play in their own homes.

Personal Life

In 2006, Shantel moved to Las Vegas with her fiancé Floyd Mayweather Jr.[6] an American boxing promoter and former professional boxer. The two got engaged in 2010 and separated in 2014[7]. Jackson and Mayweather were a highly publicized celebrity couple for a number of years and were at one point engaged to be married[8]. Following the final breakup in 2014 with Mayweather, Shantel Jackson sued[9] Mayweather for, among other claims, invasion of privacy (both public disclosure of private facts and false light portrayal), defamation and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress[10].

Shantel moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. She began dating American rapper, Nelly[11] in 2014 and filmed Nellyville[12] that same year[13]. The two broke up in 2021[14]
