Sāhila[1](साहिल) is the name of an author known for his works on prosody (chandas or chandaśśāstra), which are referenced by Kshemendra, the 11th-century scholar, in his text Suvṛttatilaka.[2]
Sāhila (साहिल) as mentioned , is quoted by Kshemendra in Suvṛttatilaka 2, 27.[1]
The Modern use of the name Sahil may have derived from the word Sāhila ( A sanskrit word ) from the book "Suvṛttatilaka"[2] in India .
