Michiel Steur (born 23 April 1995, in Gouda, Netherlands) is a Dutch media executive. As of October 2024, he serves as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at i-D Magazine, a publication renowned for its focus on fashion and culture.[1]
He started his career at Condé Nast working on British GQ at the age of 19. He subsequently moved to work on British Vogue following the appointment of Edward Enninful OBE as editor in chief and Vanessa Kingori OBE as publishing director. In 2024, he was announced as the new Chief Commercial Officer of i-D Magazine, a magazine owned by supermodel Karlie Kloss and dedicated to fashion, music, art, film and youth culture.[2]
Early life
[edit]Michiel Steur was born in Gouda, Netherlands on 23 April 1995. In 2014, Steur relocated to London, United Kingdom.
Career

[edit]Steur began his career at Condé Nast, working on British GQ at the age of 19. He subsequently transitioned to British Vogue following the appointments of Edward Enninful as editor in chief and Vanessa Kingori as publishing director[3]. His focus was on the magazine's commercial strategy and developing new business strategies.[4]
During his time at Vogue, he became Condé Nast's youngest Associate Publisher at the age of 25, and was then appointed as the Vice President of Brand Revenue for Vogue.[5] In addition to this, he also led special projects and events strategy for Vogue, GQ, and Glamour.
In 2024, he helped deliver the highest-ever revenue for an April issue in the magazine's British history[6], which was also the first issue under Vogue's new head of editorial content, Chioma Nnadi.[7]
In August 2024, his departure from Condé Nast was announced.
i-D Magazine
[edit]In August 2024, it was announced that Steur would be stepping down from his position at Vogue to join i-D Magazine as its new Chief Commercial Officer.[8] i-D had been undergoing changes since supermodel Karlie Kloss acquired it in 2023 through her company Bedford Media, where she is chairwoman.[9] Within this role, Steur oversees the commercial arm of the magazine across both existing and new platforms.[10]
Recognition
[edit]In 2022, Steur was recognised in Forbes' "30 Under 30" list in the Media & Marketing category, highlighting his work with big name clients such as Netflix, Barbie, Meta, YouTube and more[11]
