In Switzerland, a fiduciary agent[1] is a natural or legal person mandated to act on behalf of a principal, depending on the scope of the mandate.
Fiduciary responsibilities
[edit]Fiduciary mandates may include: domiciliation of companies or individuals, auditing of accounts, preparation of salary slips, accounting , certain administrative tasks, opening, management or closing of bank accounts, reviews or audits, tax returns, human resources management or any other mandate that a person wishes to entrust to a third party.[2]
Most fiduciary offices confine themselves to the day-to-day management and administration of their clients.[2]
Certain mandates, such as that of chartered accountant or auditor, are only recognized if the mandated person is a graduate of a state-recognized school.[3] In most countries, there are trustees or similar bodies.
Certain fiduciaries can be appointed to verify compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act (French: Loi sur le Blanchiment d'Argent - LBA).[4]
