Alice Morrison is best known as a BBC television presenter who hosts shows about history, travel and exploration within the Arab World.

Early life

Morrison was born in Scotland, but grew up in Uganda and Ghana. She worked as a journalist across North Africa and the Middle East, before moving into a corporate media job. She left this sphere to become a full-time adventurer in 2011, moving to Morocco..[1][2], where she led an expedition to explore the Draa River[3].

Television career

Morrison hosted her first BBC show Morocco to Timbuktu: An Arabian Adventure in 2017[4], a travel documentary following Saharan salt trade routes from Morocco to Timbuktu via the Sahara Desert[5]. In 2024, she followed up with Arabian Adventures [6] (unofficially subtitled Secrets of the Nabateans[7]), a history documentary filmed in Jordan and Saudi Arabia focusing on the Nabatean Kingdom[8].

Morris announced that in 2025 she will start a trek covering the length of Saudi Arabia’s Hejaz (western escarpment) from north to south, spread across two winter seasons, which will be the topic of another BBC series[9][10][11]
