Comment: It would be useful to include a couple of references to assist in the determination of notability. Epluribusunumyall (talk) 22:16, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Çağlama is a new and unique musical instrument that combines the essence of the electric guitar with the traditional Bağlama. [1] [2] It features an elongated neck with frets tied from fishing line. Generally it features 17 frets in an octave (compared to 12 on a guitar). The frets can be arranged as Bağlama frets but since the tuning system is different, moving some of the microtonal frets can be beneficial for playing Turkish makam music. [1]
Electric guitar strings can be used with Çağlama as follows: E, G strings to the top, A, B strings to the middle, D, e strings to the bottom. All the pairs are tuned an octave apart. Generally the top set is tuned to D, middle set to A, and the bottom set to D. is generally played with a guitar pick, although it's possible to play it with a bow as well. [1] [3]
This innovative instrument was created by Ömür Kılıçarslan, a gifted Turkish musician, and has rapidly gained acclaim among artists looking to blend Western and Eastern musical traditions. [1] [4] [5] Artists like Salih Korkut Peker, Volkan İncüvez, Muaz Ceyhan are amongst notable Çağlama players. Here's an improvisational performance by Salih Korkut Peker and Volkan İncüvez.
