On June 21, 1769, a force of 5,000 Kalmyks and the Volga Cossack Regiment (500 men) achieved a significant victory over the Nogais of the Soltan-Aul ulus at the confluence of the Terek and Kuban rivers. They liberated a large number of captives, including Russians, Georgians, and Armenians, and captured 30,000 head of cattle.[1]
