Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to :Flagstaff, Maine: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Katherine Delmar Burke article

Hello, I made a new section on the talk page (Talk:Katherine_Delmar_Burke_School) to discuss the noteability. I tried to tag you but it didn't go to hyperlink. I am new to this, so am just posting this message here to invite you to the talk page so we can reach consensus. Thanks! 2601:645:8A81:F8B0:15B5:2895:9F87:6281 (talk) 23:26, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Galanolactone

I don't disagree with your removal of the material that had been added to Galanolactone because it consisted mostly of digressions about labdanes in general and aboutthe ginger family. But, in fairness, don't you think it would have been considerate of you to have explained it an edit summary? Largoplazo (talk) 14:05, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You may be right, yeah. I explained it in a fair bit of detail on the user's talk page, but an edit summary explanation for third party observers would probably have been a good thing for the reversion of a good-faith edit like that. AntiDionysius (talk) 14:16, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you did! OK, I should have checked. Not that an edit summary would have been bad, but sorry for missing that you did address it! Best regards. Largoplazo (talk) 15:12, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

please move 🙏🙏🙏 SuperMightyBoy (talk) 18:08, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adelbeighou consistency deleting information in sports in Albania

Information icon Hi Adelbeighou! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

Could you pleas do some action against him as he continuesly tries to delete sporting history in the sport in Albania page this is gettint annoying otherwise make this page semi protected.

Thanks for your help. 2A00:20:D005:C3BB:E1D0:6B29:1D6F:57B1 (talk) 21:10, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for reaching out. A few things: first, I'm not an administrator so I am unable to either apply sanctions to a user or to semi-protect the page.
Second, having glanced at the editing history a little bit, it seems to me that this is not a clear cut case of vandalism or malicious editing on the part of Adelbeighou; rather, the two of you (assuming this and this edit were also you, which from the tone of the edit summaries looks quite likely) are engaged in a dispute about what information does or does not belong on the page. I don't know which of you is right about that content dispute, but both of you have crossed the line into edit warring at this point, which is a problem. You did make some attempt to reconcile the issue via a message on Adelbeighou's talk page, which is good, but you also didn't stop engaging in the edit warring behaviour and have been using personal attacks in your edit summaries and messages, which is not good.
Frankly, all of this is above my pay grade, so I am going to refer it to the admins, and we shall see what happens. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:24, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removed addition

You removed a restored fact I made to the Airdrieonians page. The addition I made was a fact that had been on the page for 12 months until it was removed for no apparent reason a few days ago. You cited that it wasn't verifiable- I don't understand this as it is factual and was previously in place for a significant time. Can you explain this please? True Airdrie (talk) 23:56, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the addition because it was unsourced. I was not aware that the same info had been on the page for some time before. It being there for a long time, though, does not circumvent the requirement that it, like all information on Wikipedia, be sourced. AntiDionysius (talk) 23:59, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea why it was removed a few days ago when it was previously edited(11 months ago)by the person who removed it?
The only way to verify the fact would be to check the club website. It seems like an awful lot of trouble over something which is not disputed or inaccurate True Airdrie (talk) 00:05, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know why that person removed it either. You'd have to ask them. The club website would be a perfectly okay way to verify. The right thing to do then would be to add the website as a citation beside the relevant information. Then all other editors and readers can know where it came from and know that it is accurate. The information can be found here. Is this acceptable for you? Thanks True Airdrie (talk) 00:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. Please feel free to re-add the info with that as a citation. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:19, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try! I'm extremely bad at anything technical True Airdrie (talk) 00:21, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Why did you remove my additions to the Blue water bridge article? I know its not of the highest quality, but its still better than the old one. Xdwev vfre2wwd (talk) 22:11, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was a misclick, my apologies - I've since restored your edit. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:13, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

undone edit

I received a message saying a change I made on the "Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis" has been undone. However, I disagree with this change. I added to the table (in the notes section) that Edmund Henderson was forced to resign due to a series of events. I have found this information through a couple of different sources & I thought this information could be a beneficial change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SWEETBUTTACREEM (talkcontribs) 22:07, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I said on your talk page, the edit was undone because you didn't include any sources with it. Having consulted sources is good, but you need to then cite them in the text so everyone else knows what they are. This is considered extremely important on Wikipedia.
It would probably also be good to be more specific as to what "a series of events" refers to. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:11, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As the following page contains old and inaccurate information, we would like it removed. We have tried to update it with more accurate and up to date information but as it asks to cite sources, we have been unable to add them due to the information update being deleted. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 21:55, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's what I thought. Please read the Conflict of Interest guidelines. Please also read the Wikipedia policy against shared accounts. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:00, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
we have read it... and hence it is best to remove the page... most of the information on it is inaccurate including:
dates of events; membership levels, unverified projects and a complete lack of up to date information
Anyone looking at our site will see the wikipedia page is unreliable. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:01, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you've read the COI guidelines you'll know that the next step is to request the edits you believe should be made on the article talk page, including sources. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:03, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While being clear about the nature of your conflict of interest. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:03, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
we would prefer the entire thing is deleted. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:04, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. You are welcome to propose it for deletion if you want; but when doing so you will again need to be clear about the nature of your conflict of interest, and to provide a good reason. Neither the fact that the article needs to be updated, nor that someone who claims to represent the article subject wants it deleted really count as good reasons, but it is your prerogative to try if you so wish. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:06, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just as easy for us to let people know about how inaccurate it is ... and have it reflect badly on the accuracy of your content. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:07, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Go ahead. I am not a representative of Wikipedia. I also really doubt that the activities of a small advocacy group in Ireland are going to change on a macro scale the reputation of one of the most popular websites on the planet, but you do you. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:09, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for such a professional response. it tells us alot. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:12, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you wanted a professional response, you shouldn't have asked a volunteer. I really don't know why you don't just use the edit request process as outlined in the COI guideline. I'm having a hard time understanding what your issue is. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:16, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the issue is that we have no real interest in being a part of wikipedia and the complicated processes... it adds nothing and takes time out of our more important work to keep it monitored and accurate. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:19, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well...okay then. If you have no real interest in being part of Wikipedia and don't care if the article is up to date, then it seems there is no problem. Glad I could help. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:20, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for confirming many things. And on the basis of speaking to a volunteer, i'm sure that some time spent on social skills and interaction could benefit you in the future. Not everybody is impressed by the stereotypical techie power trip. 2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F (talk) 22:23, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Move on, you're getting lost in the weeds here. Q T C 22:25, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@2A02:8084:2862:8480:7015:C84B:2BE7:776F I'm not a techie; I work in comms and public policy. I also can't really go on a power trip. I don't have any power. I'm not an admin. I'm just some random user who reverted your edit and then voluntarily tried to give you help on getting what you wanted done in compliance with Wikipedia policy.
But I probably didn't need to be a comms professional to be bemused that, when given advice on extremely simple ways to solve your problem but denied the right to unilateral control over a Wikipedia page, you decided instead to make bizarre, silly-sounding threats (directed towards someone who neither cares if you carry them out or has the power to give you what you wanted anyway - Alexander George would weep) . I mentioned that Wikipedia's reputation is far too big for any of us to really change meaningfully, and it is, but the same is not really true of an organisation in Ireland. I like artists a lot! I also like collective representation for workers. So I am being very sincere when I say: please get better at public relations. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:34, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well we can only warn a person so much. But when someone persists in whatever they’re doing then it only gives editor Black Kite (talk · contribs) more reason to block. --Office7724 (talk) 15:09, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for your comment about conflicts of interests for my edit on the Lambda Legal page. Would you mind explaining how I can publish a draft to have you review/edit, as you mentioned? Jvstinli (talk) 18:06, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! First, since you're an employee of the organisation, you want to make sure you've read WP:PAID and complied with the disclosure requirements laid out there. Once you've done that, you can follow the Articles for Creation process; it gives you some guidance on how to lay out a new article, and then allows you to submit the draft for consideration and feedback from other editors. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:42, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clarence White

Why are you removing surviving family members from Clarence White's article? Plenty of other artist list surviving family members in detail.. what is your motive here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:648:4280:1050:5948:DA86:BC91:EA5C (talk) 17:28, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@2601:648:4280:1050:5948:DA86:BC91:EA5C: My "motive" here is compliance with Wikipedia's practice regarding the inclusion of names of non-famous friends and relatives of famous people in articles (and, not for nothing, the policy on sourcing). I'm sure there are places where this practice is not being followed; the right answer to that is to bring those other articles into compliance though, not to abandon the practice. AntiDionysius (talk) 17:35, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Donald Glover

Hello! The removal of some material was an odd glitch - I added a line break, hit save, and the content below the line break disappeared! Made the same change from my laptop and it seems to have worked just fine. Weird. Thanks for reverting the error. 87.74.156.255 (talk) 22:29, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yeah, these things happen. No problem! AntiDionysius (talk) 22:30, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Si No Estás Certification

Regarding your edit on Si No Estás, the citation states that the song is 5x platinum, I’m confused on why it was undone back to 4x platinum Dhjskxis (talk) 13:51, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhjskxis Hi. That's my mistake, then. I saw your edit which didn't include a source or say in the edit summary that it was reflecting changing info in an existing source, so I thought it was unsourced. My apologies. Edit summaries can help to avoid misunderstandings like this. AntiDionysius (talk) 16:22, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

wiki about myself?

I got a message by you stating I'm making a wiki about myself. I am not, I'm just a fan of the person I'm making the wiki about. He's a new musician.

I did have another question though. How do I make the wiki page public? Swilmot73 (talk) 22:37, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. You may wish to consider changing your username, because that question is likely to keep being asked.
On your draft article, there is now a template marking it as a draft (which I've just added). When you're ready, you can click "submit for review" and sooner or later you will get feedback on whether it's ready to be published. I will say that currently, there is basically zero chance of that happening. Your article has no sources. It needs sources to establish that the information on it is true, and enough of them to establish that the person you're writing about is notable enough to be written about on Wikipedia. You should consult this guide to writing your first article, probably. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:42, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I added references to it linking to where I got most of the information. Swilmot73 (talk) 22:44, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Spotify isn't considered a reliable source, and it doesn't solve the notability problem. I really would advise reading that first article guide. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How do I change my username? Swilmot73 (talk) 22:44, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's a guide here. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There’s basically been a bit of this back and forth. I have my suspicions if you’re interested. MM (Give me info.) (Victories) 16:18, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! You're way ahead of me, I see. Might be worth asking for temporary page protection if this continues? AntiDionysius (talk) 16:20, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, It’s far from the most important page on the wiki. Probably some bored kids who think the club’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. If I see anymore of it going on after Baron, or if someone at SPI tells me to, I’ll grab RFPP (we have the same idea, it seems). Want my back covered in case of any WP:OWN problems.

Good looking out. Thumbs up icon MM (Give me info.) (Victories) 16:27, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Countervalue

Heya! I see your revert (http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Countervalue&oldid=1236804896) and while I agree in context of the intro (and what you highlighted). Both of the sources refer to deterrence and specifically nuclear deterrence. While I see why you reverted I think that the initial section of that article needs some clarification, because countervalue is not just attacking civilian targets according to those sources, it's attacking civilian targets as a deterrence method mostly applied to nuclear deterrence. So either we need to find some sources to support the current intro, or update the current intro and removed the section you reverted. 95.91.211.171 (talk) 16:31, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Velma (Article)

I thought it was already used. It literally said here:

1. Velma Dinkley, a character in Scooby-Doo franchise in the Velma Article, 174.135.36.220 (talk) 12:15, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need a source for the existence of the Scooby Doo character - you need a source for the Scooby Doo character being what the name is famous for. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:17, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because the name Velma is a Scooby-Doo, that's what made the name famously used. 174.135.36.220 (talk) 12:23, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If that's true, I'm sure you can find a source saying it. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:24, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, challenge accepted. 174.135.36.220 (talk) 12:27, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wait! It was already listed. 174.135.36.220 (talk) 21:37, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello bro can you block this user he committed massive great vandalism! on the Balinese language page and Bali Aga deleted all previous edits users! I Kadékk Gilang (talk) 12:34, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot; I'm not an admin. You'll need to go to WP:ARV. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:35, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it's not vandalism. Your edits are being reverted because you're accused of block evasion. And you've...admitted it. So the reversions are legit. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:38, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Penobscot (article)

Hey, looks like you reverted my (accidentally anonymous) edits on the Penobscot page for not including a reliable source. I was switching use of the name "Maliseet" to Wolastoqiyik, in light of the change of name on that Wikipedia page. Is a source necessary for that change, considering the switch of Wikipedia usage? SargassoShearwater (talk) 17:56, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, makes sense. AntiDionysius (talk) 17:58, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Falaq-1

Hello, is seems that you reverted my edits and erased an important paragraph from the article. Ravidon110 (talk) 21:50, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edit because it was a violation of the manual of style. I deleted the paragraph later on because a different user complained that it was inappropriate to have the paragraph there will it remains uncertain whether or not a Falaq-1 was actually involved in the explosion in question. I have no particularly strong feeling either way on that; to me it seems notable enough that the Israeli and US governments are making that allegation. But it was a compromise I was broadly fine with and seemed like the best way to avoid an edit war. You are welcome to restore the paragraph if you'd like, but please be aware of the manual of style issue mentioned above. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:58, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sarmatism (pseudohistory) - set up for speedy deletion

I have no time to set the entry Sarmatism (pseudohistory) up for speedy deletion. Anyhow, it has no English language sources, and what sources there are do not correspond to content. The author tried to create a concept out of nothing, it is telling the entry failed to pass on Lithuanian Wikipedia itself. It is clearly an unencyclopedic entry of no relevance, breaking WP. If you can and want to help me out in setting this up for speedy deletion, I would be thankful. 83.6.202.147 (talk) 16:03, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

English language sources are not a prerequisite for inclusion on English Wikipedia. The article would not qualify for speedy deletion; you would need to go through the Articles for Deletion process. AntiDionysius (talk) 16:04, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Like I said, it does not qualify for speedy deletion, and you would need to go through the Articles for Deletion process. That link explains how to do it; it's not difficult. However, until then, you should stop blanking out the page. AntiDionysius (talk) 16:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would be thankful if you helped me out in that. You can clearly see it qualifies for deletion. If you have good faith, could you please help me. 83.6.202.147 (talk) 17:19, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be best if you did it yourself; I'm not the person who believes it should be deleted (I have zero opinion one way or the other) so I'm not really going to be able to make a case for why it should be, which a deletion nomination should do. Is there any part of the process in particular that you don't understand? AntiDionysius (talk) 17:21, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thank you for this. I can't believe we're still having that conversation. Joyous! Noise! 23:16, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Politeness

You probably should not be telling people how to enter talk comments that are 100% polite, sticking strictly to what is or is not in an article and what should and should not be in it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:204:F181:9410:F550:EBE6:D51F:22EA (talk) 19:42, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@2601:204:F181:9410:F550:EBE6:D51F:22EA Being civil to others is required on Wikipedia. AntiDionysius (talk) 19:46, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your opinion about what is civil has little to do with the usual definition.
Any opinion that sticks to commenting on the article with no reference to individuals is civil.
If you disagree with what someone posts, you are free to post your disgreement.
But it's much better to wait until you find a flagrant violation instead of inserting yourself wherever you feel like butting in. 2601:204:F181:9410:F550:EBE6:D51F:22EA (talk) 21:20, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Actress Image

Hello Dear, I see you have reverted my changes to the Article Jennifer Kotwal, the actress herself has shared the image with me to be updated on Wikipedia. Let me know if I'm missing anything or a better way to change her image.

Thank you, Looking forward to your positive response.

Mastermind.ind.in (talk) 07:54, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - so, this is a complicated one. There are two issues at play.
First, if you know the actress personally, then you need to read the Wikipedia conflict of interest guideline, which tells you how you should approach articles whose subjects you have some kind of personal connection to.
Second, regarding the image itself: images on Wikipedia need to be copyright-free and available for anyone to use, not just here on Wikipedia but also to copy elsewhere. We also need to have actual confirmation of that status. This article explains how the copyright holder for that photo (I don't know if that's the actress, her management, the photographer, whoever) can confirm that they are releasing the image from copyright so it can be used on Wikipedia.
Let me know if I can help with anything else. AntiDionysius (talk) 08:02, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dobhi Railway Junction

You are writing wrong details of Dobhi Railway Junction. This is a big Junction not station. If you are not correct this content. I will claim in court against you. Because you editing wrong details on Dobhi Railway Junction. So go and correct the the name and details of Dobhi Railway Junction. 12 super fast express trains have stopped on this Junction daily. Thanking you. Dharmyuddh Party (talk) 11:55, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Two things. First of all, all edits on Wikipedia need to be sourced. You can't just say "I know this because I live there" - that's not how it works. See this guide to getting started on Wikipedia for an introduction to editing.
Second, you're not allowed to make legal threats on Wikipedia, and people who violate that rule are blocked. You need to say you're retracting the one you have just made and not make any more. There's also no point to it, because you don't know my name and we don't live in the same country and I haven't done anything illegal in either of the countries in which we live. Removing quote marks around direct quote from source material for Robby Starbuck article

Hi. 'Noticed you reverted in whole my edit of adding quote marks for directly quoted source material in Robby Starbuck article. Changing the word order makes words lifted from source material no less a direct quote. All the same, omitted those "out of order" quoted words from the direct quote. 85.156.111.20 (talk) 17:06, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding changes to doma in israel

I didnt site sources as i went off of the much more expansive hebrew page on the topic so citing the same sources would be redundant my explanation covered why they would not be jews and why they are more likely to speak hebrew than arabic also if you decide to include the changes i made change the hebrew name in the table from דומס בישראל to דומארים בישראל as this seems like a translation error 2A06:C701:9A25:C200:6193:3CDE:F7FE:7999 (talk) 13:08, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Changes removed, request to reinstate

Hi there, you removed all my changes because I cited a wiki page. I will remove that citation - but all the other edits need to go back up please. Can you please reinstate all the changes I made please? Blake029 (talk) 23:22, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned in my other message to you, the broader issue with your edits were that they contravened the neutral point of view policy; there was a lot of what we sometimes call "peacock" language - it subjectively praised the subject rather than sticking strictly to objective facts. AntiDionysius (talk) 23:53, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am SO SORRY - I realize now what you meant. I have removed the "peacocking" and stuck to the facts. Please let me know if I need to tweak it further. Thank you so much for your help, and understanding! Blake029 (talk) 00:30, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bratonožići article

I believe you made a mistake in your article on stating that tribe of Bratonožići is of Albanian origin. The fact that Bratonožići was a tribe is a vague concept since there is no reliable information to confirm that, even if that assumption is true the vast majority of people and surnames originating from Bratonožići are either of Serbian or Montenegrin origins. The region of Bratonožići was a home of many enthnic entities and stating that this tribe is Albanian origin indicates that that was the only related ethnic group to it, this is unverified to say the least. If you have to say that this is a tribe of Albanian origin at least add lack of varification for it. 155.93.171.91 (talk) 22:07, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't lack verification - it's cited in the article. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:11, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And the surnames being of Serbian and Montenegrin origins is also explained in the article, with a citation: "were of Albanian origin and gradually became Slavic-speakers". Did you read the article? AntiDionysius (talk) 22:17, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is a verified information for you? 155.93.171.91 (talk) 22:18, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Because of the citations. More sources would of course always be good but the ones it has are solid, and changing "Albanian origin" to "Serbian origin" would not only be unsourced but actively contradicting several sources.
If you feel very strongly about this I suggest you start a discussion at Talk:Bratonožići, but be prepared to bring sources. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:22, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The concern here is that the origin is a quote referenced from a book (Poeta nascitur, historicus fit) This book also references it from another book (Revue des Études Islamiques). Should origin not point directly to the source of the statement 155.93.171.91 (talk) 07:42, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, in fact Wikipedia generally prefers secondary sources over primary ones. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:01, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Really where is the origin cited? 155.93.171.91 (talk) 22:17, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
...in the article, in the "origins" section. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:19, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop vandalising the article.

If you're here just for your own personal agendas or reasons, then this platform is not for you. You are repeatedly vandalizing articles, even the ones with sources added. You're not fit for this platform, and you should be blocked forever 49.43.43.99 (talk) 12:10, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@49.43.43.99 as I just explained on your talk page, you already have been blocked, on your original IP address and every one you have used since then. I have been reverting your edits since your original block in line with Wikipedia's policy on block evasion. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:13, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Who are you to revert my edits? You're not even an admin. I'm not blocked and please don't the change the topic. Why are you constantly vandalising the article just for personal reasons? 49.43.43.99 (talk) 12:15, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You were blocked. See Special:Contributions/2402:8100:2738:B09C:C9F8:F37E:C98F:3CC1 for a record of your block. Every other IP you have used to edit since then has also been blocked - this is because continuing to edit when you are blocked is block evasion. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:17, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How can I use different IPs? What are you talking about? I'm not a hacker. Instead of blaming others just look at your actions first. 49.43.43.99 (talk) 12:23, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't say you were using multiple IPs deliberately or for malicious reasons; it can happen without a user realising it. A glance at the histories of any of the pages in question will show your edits attributed to at least four different IPs. The problem here isn't that you're using different IPs, it's that you were blocked and you are continuing to try to edit.
I have looked at my actions. My actions are the enforcement of the WP:BE policy, which states Anyone is free to revert any edits made in violation of a ban or block, without giving any further reason and without regard to the three-revert rule. So I feel pretty good about those actions, thanks. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:26, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what are you talking about. I didn't violate any policy. I think you're just doing this for your own personal agendas. Please tell why are you here? Do you work for someone or you have been paid to do editing? 49.43.43.99 (talk) 12:49, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I thought initially some discussion may have been productive as I suspected there was a chance (and if they are to be believed, I was correct) that they simply did not know they were block evading, but clearly shining a light on that did not do anything and further discussion was stupid of me. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:43, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have done the same before when I started fighting vandalism, regarding an IP violating BLP. It happens. Myrealnamm's Alternate Account (talk) 12:48, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

GregLindquist article

Hi You said you removed inappropriate external links, can you please explain? It appears you deleted the entire section as well, which I assume is an error. Ratt675 (talk) 22:31, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia policy is to basically never put external links into the body of an article.
I deleted the whole section because it was completely unreferenced and written like an advertisement. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:33, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for letting me know about EL, but this section is key-- It is describing the artists' bodies of works, which is essentially their contribution to art. How can it be not "written like an advertisement"? Ratt675 (talk) 22:39, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A few things for avoiding promotional writing:
 1. Articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that come from reliable sources, and those sources should be referenced.
 2. Anything that's not a fact but an opinion, evaluation or determination should be attributed; e.g. "The Dan River coal ash spill in 2014 has been the conceptual, visual, thematic, and political driver of his Smoke and Water project." should instead be "Lindquist has described the Dan River coal ash spill as the...driver". Though excessive inclusion of the person's description of their own work should be avoided anyway - independent critics are much preferred.
 3. What Wikipedia calls "peacock words" should be avoided.

The use of language: "aggressive campaign", "threatened" etc. Also you can't just say something was "deemed antisemitic"; you need to say who described it that way. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:55, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lasseter Family Winery

Hi there, and thanks for deleting what doesn't belong on wikipedia, as I take my first stab at Wikipedia edits and try to correct the Lasseter entry.

Four basic goals thus far:

 1. Remove railroad map, which is part of a private residence.
 2. Remove outdated case production number in the opening paragraph, as footnoted in footnote 1, from an article 13 years ago. Since we don't publish our case production anywhere, there is no replacement number, though it's ~4,000 pending each vintage's yields. Can this entire sentence just be removed?: "The winery, once inhabited by the Grand Cru Winery, produces approximately 1,200 cases of French red wine blends annually, with the capacity to produce up to 6,000."
 3. Just requested today to replace the homepage quoted in footnote 2 at the bottom of the page, since we updated that verbiage on our home page, with our website redesign launch on 9/6/23. I want to replace it with verbiage from the new home page (or take it out completely). "We produce Bordeaux and Rhône inspired white, rosé, and red wines, as well as century-old Zinfandel in a field blend with rare heritage varieties."
 4. I want to remove the outdated info from that article, which appears in the opening paragraph: "The winery grows Bordeaux and Rhône varietals on 27 acres. One of the Lasseters' winemaking mentors was Jess Jackson, of Kendall-Jackson."
 5. Thanks for any help you can provide! I appreciate it.
