Civil Ensign
[edit]A civil ensign has been proposed, and approved by the Queen. It needs to pass through the States before it can be brought into use. Just needs someone to create it now. Design shown here.
- An image has been created: File:Civil Ensign of Jersey.svg. Man vyi (talk) 05:10, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- The civil ensign was adopted in June 2010. Mjroots (talk) 09:36, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
John Le Marquand and Wilfred Krichefski
[edit]I have created stub articles on John Le Marquand and Wilfred Krichefski, both now deceased and formerly members of the States of Jersey. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 22:20, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Vingtaine de Rozel
[edit]Is the Vingtaine de Rozel in Trinity, Jersey, which is what the article on Trinity says, or in Saint Martin, Jersey, which is what the articles on St. Martin and on the Vingtaine de Rozel say?
I've been working on the Rozel, Jersey article, but it could use some referencing and verification from someone wmore knowledgable than myself. DGG ( talk ) 22:43, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- I think Vingtaine de Rozel is one vingtaine divided in two, between Trinity and St Martin.
And, your Rozel, Jersey is effectively a duplicate of Vingtaine de Rozel, because Rozel is just short for Vingtaine de Rozel. I'd suggest moving your text in to Vingtaine de Rozel, and deleting Rozel, Jersey. Possibly, Vingtaine de Rozel could be renamed to Rozel on the basis that it is generally referred to as Rozel only. Hi, is there any objection to making this a taskforce of that WikiProject? Thanks, Matty.007 11:13, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
Any reliable sources? It looks a bit dubious at present. PamD 09:21, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- It's now at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Australian_Beach. Please share your local expertise and sources. Thanks. PamD 10:32, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Jersey articles missing geocoordinate data
[edit]There are definitely Jersey articles missing geocoordinate data, but Category:Jersey articles missing geocoordinate data seems to be missing. How should editors find such articles, except by luck?--Dthomsen8 (talk) 22:10, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
- Now there are four articles in the category, but I hope to add coordinates in June.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 23:38, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Good article nomination
[edit]@Curb Safe Charmer: @Man vyi: Hi. Specifically pinging you two as major active editors. Considering re-nominating Jersey for good article status after fixing issues with uncited information. Want your thoughts to anything we should do first to avoid a rejection as much as possible. Jèrriais janne (talk) 15:45, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
User script to detect unreliable sources
[edit]I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.
)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

Vingtaine articles
[edit]There's a sustained effort from one newbie editor to see most if not all the articles about individual vingtaines deleted. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vingtaine de Longueville and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vingtaine de Longueville (2nd nomination) (currently open). These stubs could do with expansion, checking that links in references are working, etc. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:31, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
Good article reassessment for British people

"Material about living persons should not be added when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism" (The JEP problem)
[edit]A significant amount of misleading information has been added about Jersey based only upon the Jersey Evening Post (i.e. tabloid journalism). Please remember that these articles are supposed to be neutral rather than propaganda. I will try to suggest amendments on talk pages, but any assistance would be gratefully received. If there are any quality sources for Jersey then I shall be glad to assist by reviewing them to see if any articles can be updated. RichardColgate (talk) 00:41, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
