We have {{Asia topic|Protected areas of}}, {{Africa topic|Protected areas of}}, {{Europe topic|Protected areas of}} etc to provide us with better navigation. Also they do not need to be updated. Farjad0322(talk|sign|contribs) 17:14, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Keep. Template "by country" provides the best navigation.Biophys (talk) 17:51, 16 September 2010 (UTC)- Delete. Function is better served by categorisation and with the templates mentioned by the nominator. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 07:38, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was Replace with infobox Pages need to be changed to use the sandbox and then subst, use existing infobox if possible. Salix (talk): 15:19, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- Template:Infobox generic (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Obsoleted by {{infobox}} and no longer required. The sandbox has an implementation which wraps around {{infobox}}; once the codebase is updated, every existing transclusion can be substituted so as to orphan {{infobox generic}}. See the test cases page for examples. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 12:06, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Support proposal made by nom, though ideally it would be good if at least some uses of this template were replaced with proper infoboxes. PC78 (talk) 23:10, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Many of them really are one-offs. From a look at the transclusions list, the biggest clumps I can see are as follows:
- Research labs (six: Los Alamos National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Khan Research Laboratories, National Centre for Physics, Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology)
- Jainist Tirthankars (24: Rishabha (Jain tirthankar), Ajitnath, Sambhavanath, Abhinandannath, Sumatinath, Padmaprabha, Suparshvanath, Chandraprabha, Pushpadanta, Sheetalnath, Shreyansanath, Vasupujya, Vimalnath, Anantnath, Dharmanath, Shantinath, Kunthunath, Aranath, Mallinath, Munisuvrata, Nami Natha, Neminath, Parshva, Mahavira)
- Railway lines (seven: Atlantic Coast Line, Cornwall, Maritime Line, Looe Valley Line, Avocet Line, Riviera Line, London, Midland and Scottish Railway, Cornwall Railway)
- Irish cinemas (seven: Screen Cinema, The Savoy Cinema, Volta Cinematograph, The Carlton Cinema, Cineworld Dublin, Ambassador Theatre (Dublin), Irish Film Institute)
- Philippines governmental offices (eight: Department of Environment and Natural Resources (Philippines), Department of Justice (Philippines), Department of Budget and Management (Philippines), Department of Foreign Affairs (Philippines), Department of the Interior and Local Government (Philippines), Department of Health (Philippines), Department of Finance (Philippines), Department of Agrarian Reform (Philippines))
- Oregon governmental offices (six: Oregon Secretary of State, Oregon State Treasurer, Oregon Superintendent of Public Instruction, Oregon Attorney General, Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, Oregon State Archives)
- Other than that, there are a handful of breakfast cereals, various biographies, schools, governmental orgs in the rest of the world and so on which could probably be adjusted to use existing infoboxes. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 09:10, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

This template doesn't list shows created by Nickelodeon (like those in Template:Nicktoons, a template which I have no problems with), but shows aired at one time or another by Nickelodeon. The problem is that if you start with such templates, many articles will have dozens of templates, as they have been aired on dozens of stations around the world. Being aired on Nick (or on the BBC, France 2, ARD, ...) is not something that needs a category, template, ..., as it would overwhelm the articles with minor elements of their history, and because the link between the different articles in this template is too flimsy (yes, The Smurfs and Ulysses 31 have both been aired at some time on some Nick channel, but that's a very thin conection...) Fram (talk) 08:11, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- WP:NOT#TVGUIDE, presumably. Praise the higher power of your choice that nobody decided to create a navbox of this type for, say, BBC1. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 08:41, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Delete per nomination... Farjad0322(talk|sign|contribs) 13:35, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. Airing on the same network is a trivial connection at best, and certainly not navbox worthy, as it would make for a total mess, as the non said. oknazevad (talk) 00:03, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

- Template:CycloneSIA (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Recently created. I can find any reason why to have this instead of the standard {{SIA}}. In the past we had one for hurricanes and we deleted it. Magioladitis (talk) 06:40, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'd support deletion, for this and some of the other new ones. Was there consensus to create all these new ones? --Auntof6 (talk) 06:57, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Delete...we have a standard template, {{SIA}}, for these purposes... Farjad0322(talk|sign|contribs) 13:34, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. This template doesn't do anything that {{SIA|cyclones}} wouldn't do.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); September 16, 2010; 16:53 (UTC)
