[edit]Ref number 16 is wrong - I did not do it. Please fix. Srbernadette (talk) 00:08, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- It is true that this time you didn't do it. You are an experienced editor. Can you learn referencing? Robert McClenon (talk) 00:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Fixed. I just deleted the offending portion. Anti-vaxxers are nothing new; it's an old bad idea. I didn't correct the misspelling of the name of the extinct disease. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:22, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Referencing errors on Template:Infobox tram/doc
[edit]Reference help requested. How do I fix that error in Template:Infobox tram? Peter Horn User talk 00:24, 4 October 2016 (UTC) Thanks, Peter Horn User talk 00:24, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Fixed by removing the
{{#tag:ref||group="nb"|name=""}}
that you added in the diff linked in the heading of this topic. I could be wrong, but I didn't see an immediately obvious reason to explain why you added it. Murph9000 (talk) 00:39, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
At the bottom of the article - after all o0f the refs -= there is a citation form Encyclopedia Britannica. It has a "red" warning. Please fix. I did not create this concern Thanks Srbernadette (talk) 01:30, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Srbernadette. I have fixed it. You could have done so also, by looking at the documentation at
{{EB1911}}
. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:24, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Why is Avani Technology Solutions Inc nominated for deletion?
[edit]- Avani Technology Solutions Inc (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Avani Technology Solutions Inc (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Why is the wiki page created for Avani tech Solutions is considered for deletion/ All information available in the article is true and sufficient links are furnished too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomaseater (talk • contribs) 06:36, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Thomaseater: See
this article's entry on the Articles for deletion page,
just as the deletion notice tells you. --CiaPan (talk) 07:22, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- "Why is the wiki page created for Avani tech Solutions..." - right there is the fundamental problem, the article was created to benefit the subject. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:37, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- It fails to credibly meet the criteria in Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Without clear notability, it has the appearance of being entirely promotional. Wikipedia only has articles on the most significant companies in the world, and the other 99% (approximately) are excluded until they can demonstrate significant notability in the global or national context, through widespread in-depth coverage by good independent sources. Murph9000 (talk) 10:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
It wasn't created by me. Please check the original creator. I contested this because I am wary about the credibility of the company. Thomaseater (talk) 10:34, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- The standard for inclusion is not credibility but rather significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject. —teb728 t c 10:54, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
"you have yet to find a single editor to agree with you" ?
[edit]I edited a article. But a user reverted my contribution with saying "you have yet to find a single editor to agree with you" Is there any regulation related to it? Is this right? GBCKHQ (talk) 08:19, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @GBCKHQ: Wikipedia ideally works on consensus. At least four different editors have reverted your addition, and nobody but you supports it. If you are reverted, you should attempt to persuade other editors on talk pages rather than edit warring to force your preferred version. See WP:Edit warring and WP:BRD. —teb728 t c 09:39, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

- Done, in the future you can always remove the offending text as well and place a warning on the user's page whch I did. Thanks for catching it! RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:35, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Adding Images to my user page
[edit]How do I add images to my user page: John Warner Smith. I uploaded files (bookers and photo of myself) but I don't know where they went. — Preceding unsigned comment added by John Warner Smith (talk • contribs) 16:44, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- You have uploaded three images to Wikimedia Commons. You can see a list of them here. Maproom (talk) 17:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @John Warner Smith: And you can add them to your userpage by typing
[[File:(file name).(extension)]]
on it (see Wikipedia:Picture tutorial for more detailed instructions). However, please sign your post by typing four tildes (~~~~) or clicking the signature button above the edit box which looks like this: . Do not sign in articles. Pppery 17:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Change Password
[edit]Yahoo! has notified me that my passwords may have been compromised. I need instructions as to how to change my password on this website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ColgatorBob (talk • contribs) 18:27, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @ColgatorBob: Please sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) or clicking the signature button above the edit box which looks like this: , but do not sign in articles. To answer your question, you can change your password by going to Special:ChangePassword and filling out the form it gives you. Pppery 18:31, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @ColgatorBob: note that your password would only be compromised or be at risk on wikipedia if you used the same password that you used on Yahoo. You dont need to change it here if it is different. MilborneOne (talk) 18:54, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Address has changed
[edit]The Kasson Public Library is now 607 1st Street NW in Kasson. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.35.96.131 (talk) 18:51, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Why is this relevant? Pppery 19:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- You can either bring this up on the article's talk page or click the edit button and change the location in the library infobox yourself since the library's website is claiming the new address. Help desk is not really the place for statement of change. Thanks. Maineartists (talk) 19:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
References
[edit]I am starting to draft a biographical article for a person named Sydney Michael Hudson. I am trying to get references to establish notability from significant coverage in reliable sources before trying to draft the article. If I use the Find Sources from Wikipedia and use the full name I do not see any references, but if I search “books” for S. Michael Hudson or Mike Hudson and add Aviation, Rolls-Royce or Allison at the end of this name I find several sources. If I search HighBeam for S. Michael Hudson with Rolls-Royce added I find several published source. Searching in HighBeam produces similar results if I use S. Michael Hudson along with Allison or Rolls-Royce with his name. For images I searched S. Michael Hudson Aeronautics in Google Images and found a picture. If an associative word is required, will any of this suffice for notability? I have other references from magazines such as Aviation Week that do not show up also. Thanks. K. I. Forline K. I. Forline (talk) 20:21, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- @K. I. Forline: Books about him, articles about him, etc. are what is required to show notability. You need to cite the sources in the article, demonstrating that all the information in the article came from those sources. The find sources link is there as a convenience, to help you find sources. You do not need to obtain your sources using it. Does this make sense?~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 20:31, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- K. I. Forline The content of the sources matter, how and where you found them is irrelevant. Also note that sources do not need to be online, real books, magazines, newspapers (made of paper and ink) are just as valid as websites - often even more so. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:36, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
