Original – Film by the British Government about the Berlin Airlift.
ALT Full res (640 × 480 pixels, rather than 400 × 300 pixels)
Reason
A short film released by the United Kingdom highlighting the Berlin Airlift and the role of the Royal Air Force in assisting the USAF in helping to ensure that West Berlin remained supplied during the first overtly unfriendly act of the Cold War. A unique find for both the footage and for highlighting the role of the RAF in the operation as opposed to sticking solely with the US as the saving force.

I was aware of British participation, but admittedly not its extent. I'd feel more comfortable, though, if this weren't so all-British, which could mislead younger viewers. (See vote below.) Sca (talk) 14:12, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support ALT - Higher resolution. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 03:04, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Alt. – Upon reconsideration I'll support higher-res version, mainly for EV re less-known period British aircraft – such as the Avro York – which as a WWII-etc. history buff I find interesting. Presentation should be prefaced with context re the larger operation.
PS: Wonder what Bomber Harris thought of the Berlin Airlift.
