I am nominating the 1984 Oscars for featured list because I believe it has great potential to become a Featured List. I followed how the 1929, 1979, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 ceremonies were written. Please keep in mind that because this ceremony happened earlier than in recent ones that I did, the format of how I configured this list may look slightly different than others. - I see that links in the sources are not consistent. Some newspapers like The Times-Picayune (Ref#12), Akron Beacon Journal (Ref#22) ,and Indianapolis News (Ref#23) are linked, while rest are not linked. I'll suggest to either link all, or remove link from all.
- Fixed: Linked the first mention of newspapers for each reference.
- Some of the bibliographies like Franks 2005, Jones 1999, and Pond 2005 are not used as citations. I'll suggest moving them to Further reading section.
- Fixed: Removed unused bibliographies since they were most likely holdovers from another ceremony, and I forgot to remove them.
- Gene Allen is linked twice in the prose. First in the "Winners and nominees" section, second in the "Ceremony information" section.
- Fixed: Delinked Gene Allen in the ceremony information section.
- Suggesting to archive all the references (though some already are)
- Fixed: Archived all references
- I see that various news citations doesn't have link. Although not a major issue, I'll suggest adding these links to the article so that the reader could access them.

- @uBirdienest81 – All my concerns are addressed, and the list looks and reads fine. I support this list for promotion as a Featured list. Great work! I'll appreciate your comments on FLC of United States presidential elections in Arkansas, which I do intent to make a series of 52 articles! Thanks! – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 03:28, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]by Academy president Gene Allen and Mickey Rooney
--> Maybe reverse order or add "actor" or "entertainer" for clarity.
- Fixed: Added "actor" before Mickey Rooney.
- "award ceremony" and "awards ceremony" are used in same context. Standardize.
- Fixed: Made "award" into plural so that it now reads "awards ceremony".
- Add comma after "With four wins"
- Fixed: Added comma after said phrase.
- This image would work well under "Special Achievement Academy Award". If it's too much of a pain to replace the Spanish, don't worry about it.
- Fixed: Added image to Special Achievement Award section.
- I would move the Carson image to the left so he faces the text.
- Fixed: Moved Johnny Carsons's image to the left.
the five Best Picture nominees at the US box office was $151 million with an average of $30 million
The average gross is kind of obvious imo. Maybe remove?
- Fixed: Removed the average gross figure.
He also added
Remove "also". It implies that this was the second time he added.
- Fixed: Removed the word also between He and added.
American telecast on ABC drew in an average of 42.1 million people over its length
Average over what period? Clarify.
- Fixed: Changed over its length" to "Over the length the broadcast"
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Parasite have since equaled this record with four wins apiece
Maybe add years in parentheses.
- Fixed: Added years in parentheses to respective films.
- Not anything you can fix, but The Right Stuff really should have won over Terms of Endearment.
That's all. Nice work. ~ HAL333 18:51, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Source review – Pass
[edit]Will do soon. Aza24 (talk) 21:21, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- Version reviewed: [2]
- Formatting
- There's some inconsistency in using the "Citation" template vs "cite book" which is making the formatting different throughout the Bibliography
- Fixed: Changed "cite book" to "citation" template per previous ceremony lists.
- Locations are inconsistent, sometimes you have just city; sometimes city and state; and sometimes state and country
- Fixed: Reformatted locations for consistency.
- "Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS)" vs just "Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences"
- Fixed: Removed AMPAS acronym since it is redundant.
- not sure that ref 21 is really a PDF
- Fixed: Removed PDF indication.
- Reliability
- seems okay
- Verifiability
- No issue. Aza24 (talk) 21:21, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

*" Los Angeles beginning" I would put a comma before beginning.
