Obadiah_Shoher (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) (restore|AfD)
Obadiah's blog was recently voted the Best Overall blog in People's Choice Jewish and Israeli blog awards. The doubts about vanity and reality of the author appear exaggerated. The article also mentioned that Obadiah's followers launched massive demonstrations in Ukraine and brought down several websites. There seems no doubt that Obadiah is for real. As for the argument that Obadiah is not known in Israel, the article is clear that he uses pen name to avoid indictment on charges of racism and incitement. 83.143.237.207 17:10, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Help with page move
[edit]Hi, Yomangani - Happy New Year ! I encountered new editor Kingj123 when he nominated Korean G-7 for WP:FAC, and have been helping him learn the ropes. He has now decided the article would be better moved back to HSR-350x (apparently the more official name), but he already set that page up as a redirect to the G-7 article, so he needs admin help for the move. He inquired on my talk page; are you able to help ? Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:44, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks - that was speedy :-) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:05, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Plurality in carom billiards
[edit]Actually I'm not sure. The Commons uploader didn't give enough information and th language and grammar construcion of 400 years ago was quite different. It certainly reads better plural:-) It might be that it's best to simply convert to modern English spelling entirely, i.e., put the "i" in billiards, and be done with it.--Fuhghettaboutit 21:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Yomangani. You come highly recommended by User:Yannismarou! Yannis reviewed the Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan article in an earlier peer review, and after I exhausted his suggestions, he recommended that I solicit your feedback. I would really appreciate if you would take the time to read the article and provide your comments at the article's current peer review page. Kind regards Cimm[talk] 00:17, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I have just got a couple of biographies of Hogarth out of the library, so may add some further details to the other series articles too.
Others to do:
- Tailpiece, or The Bathos/The Bathos/Bathos
- The March to Finchley/March to Finchley
- Four Times of Day/The Four Times of Day
- Before and After (not the film)

V for Vendetta
[edit]Hi Yomangani,
In regards to your comments regarding references in the "Differences" section, how would one go about managing a "differences" section without running into trouble with OR/POV? There are some parts that are incredibly difficult to find secondary sources for. So you have to use the primary sources. My understanding is that this would largely consist of simply comparing the plot summaries between the two, and only include descriptive information. (E.G. Harper is in the novel, but not in the film). However, I can't help but still think that this whole process is somewhat soft. Could you shine some insight as to what is acceptable and what isn't? It would be much appreciated.--P-Chan 05:23, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

- Ew. I just noticed P-Chan had posted above. Sorry if it's like pulling teeth re-reading it again. Marskell 04:39, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- OH no! You don't get off that easy! :) You mentioned yourself that there were two things left unresolved! And I think (considering I'm leaving after this), that we should resolve them... just for the sake of closure. :) (Thanks BTW, for clarify what you meant in regards to the differences section. That's a huge relief, otherwise I'm guessing I'd have to find references for every little morsel). Anyways, here they are...
- 1) I think the Stephen Rea things has been fixed. If I'm not mistaken, it now has a logical structure that is similar to the John Hurt entry. What do you think?
- 2) Wasn't the Monte Cristo connection explicitly mentioned in the film? V and Evey both watch it together and discuss why it's his favorite film, and at the end of the film she calls V Edmund Dantes. (I think it's an explicit.) What's your opinion on this?--P-Chan 07:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

FAR
[edit]Me again. Could you check out the edit history at FAR? There is a relatively new user who is delisting several articles there, and not following all the steps. I have messaged him about it, but he has continued. Maybe it's all perfectly in order, but it seems a bit fast, to me, especially since he has never discussed anything at FAR before, from his contribution list. Thanks. Jeffpw 19:24, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am also relatively new to FAR, so I just cleaned it up as best I could and messaged everybody I could think of (see my contribution history for a complete list). If it happens again, I will do as you suggested, and revert. For the record, I would never dream of doing something like that in FAR!!!! My personal feeling is that all FA stuff has to be handled like Plutonium. I only started there recently in order to give Sandy some support while she is out of town. I plan on becoming more active, but I tend to go slowly in areas I am not familiar with. Once again, thanks. Jeffpw 23:04, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks also for adding the taxobox to Poecilostomatoida. I knew it needed one but I got lazy and wanted to watch television (The Reckoning, Ugly Betty and a bunch of Cartoon Network shows). Copyvio
[edit]Hi Yomangani, I take your concerns seriously, about the copyvio. I was just curious about exactly to what extent I need to change, is there actually a cemented set of rules, or is each case based separately? I did not copy and paste from the site, note that you cannot on that webpage, and I did reword it, but when you say I need to write my own article, but use the references.. how differant exactly does it have to be? And is there a particular section of the text that concerns you most? thanks, waiting for your reply,-Anonymous Dissident

Seria Ludo
[edit]Hi. I just created a goofy, hopefully humorous user page called "Seria Ludo", the main context of which is me complaining about the length of the DYK hook we used for Fauna of Scotland. The following text is from the bottom of the page:
- Yomangani - The assortment of articles you produce reveals a sharp intelligence and a sense of humor. I therefore hope you take my teasing in good spirits. As you've agreed that sharp hooks are preferred, please consider brevity or the lack thereof before posting on the main page. Maybe you were a hurry today or something, no big deal. It all worked out for the best as that 40 word hook gave me a great opportunity for cathartic satire.
I wanted you to read my kind words before the rest of the page. I hope the essay makes you smile rather than frown. Thanks. House of Scandal 03:12, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Just a Tip?
[edit]Listen, this is Anonymous Dissident. I hope I havent been bugging you - I've been asking alot of questions of you lately - but you have such a large range of articles, so much variety! Do you think you could tell me where you get your ideas? Is it from wikiprojects, or do you just have an awesome general knowledge, or is it from somewhere else. Your answer will be greatly appreciated. Anonymous Dissident
RE: Thank you for your ideas. No, I do not speak any language other than English however, but I am interested in your ideas. However, 1 thing remains unanswered - are you part of any wikiproject that supplies you with any of these article ideas? Again I say, your articles, while being very good, are dissimilar to each other, almost to the point of randomness! I've looked for fauna and flora, but I just really do not know where to search. In any case, your help has been great, and I thank you very much. Your adminship is well placed I believe.
