Welcome, WikipedianAncientHistorian!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, WikipedianAncientHistorian! I'm Bsoyka, and I've been assigned as your mentor. About half of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.
You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.
If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.
Again, welcome to Wikipedia! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 02:28, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- hey Bsoyaka,
- Entered the contents of the link and it just gave me the suggested edits, not the tutorial. I forgot about this for a while, lol, so I might have already taken it. Sorry for bothering you, lol, but, how do you make an article? have a lot to contribute!
- Yours truly,

Speedy deletion nomination of The Time A Black Bear Nearly Caused Nuclear War
[edit]Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as The Time A Black Bear Nearly Caused Nuclear War, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - For one pint, chatgpt backed me up. I have multiple credible sources I'm willing to share. I worked hard on this and you just banned it. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 03:03, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ok do not respond and leave the desolate wasteland that is the wikipage I worked hard on banned and utterly destroyed ig, meant to say the saboteur was the black bearr and the sentry thought it was a saboteur, but it was actually a bear. Just throwing that out WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 03:13, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- After a little review, the topic is not a hoax. However, it is already given better coverage at Volk Field Air National Guard Base#False alarm incident. No separate article is needed. —C.Fred (talk) 03:37, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- It's not really heavily known by it's exact title- it's hard to find under that current title. I myself was literally unable to find that. Alongside that, even if it's gross simplification, some people prefer simple over complex. I plea you reconsider. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 03:44, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is, "The Time A Black Bear Nearly Caused Nuclear War" isn't really a likely search term, so it's not even a good redirect. There is a mention and link at Nuclear close calls. —C.Fred (talk) 04:11, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Check literally every news article, online debate and all of that and you'll find what I just said as the title WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:14, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- To the contrary, zero hits on the exact phrase. —C.Fred (talk) 04:27, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Minnlawyer, military.com, MeatEater, War History Online. All have nearly the same titles. It'll be found more often than the one you are opting for anyways.. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:29, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Furthermore, it'll be found more often then what you are literally opting for, it's a seperate wiki page just so happening to have info on the topic.. i think mine is going to be found way more often WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:33, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- I suggest working on the draft, not only to rewrite it into more encyclopedic text, but also to make sure that you have cited reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 04:36, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- As I'm new im unsure how to do that, id appreciate aid in that. Btw, the incident is major enough to deserve an article in my eyes. Nobody would find it in a state of a sub-article. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:38, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- I mean the citations I can improve everything else WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:38, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- ill gladly work on it if it's unbanned, I'm not gonna write a draft for it to get denied again WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:39, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- In its current condition, it is unsuitable for the main encyclopedia. If you want to work on it, you'll have to work on the draft. —C.Fred (talk) 04:41, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

- Oh the history of which page? —C.Fred (talk) 04:43, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- What do you mean the history of each page? WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:44, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Where are you seeing the "+346"? It sounds like you're looking at the history of a page, and that's the number of characters added in an edit. —C.Fred (talk) 04:45, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Wait I understand nvm, also is it fine if I write up some of the draft and paste some of it into the chat in like 15 minutes to see if it's up to standard WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 04:46, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Take your time to work on it. I'm going to be afk for a little longer than 15. —C.Fred (talk) 04:48, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Seán O'Méara
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Seán O'Méara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JSFarman (talk) 19:12, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I am using it for the fact that it is related in another article, I am using it for a link reference WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:19, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- they made one of the most popular Irish songs ever, grace, search it up WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:21, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I don't understand what you mean by a "link reference". You created an article without any citations. I did a search and came up with nothing substantial. (I did not look for references about "Grace"; I only searched the subject's name.)
- I removed the speedy deletion tag, and instead added tags related to tone and sourcing. I will move the article to draft after enough time has elapsed so you can "search it up" and add citations. (Please note that another editor may may move the article or request that it be speedily deleted before I get to it.) JSFarman (talk) 20:00, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- i have a citation forgot to addit WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:12, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- By link reference I mean just a wiki page with no text for a minor character and simply existing with no actual purpose but to be a link for preexisting fallout articles WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:28, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry I accidentally replied in the wrong area. Meant that for the Kellogg page WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Although the same applies WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kellogg (Fallout 4)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kellogg (Fallout 4) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. JSFarman (talk) 19:21, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- My good christ are you purposely doing this to me HE IS A SECONDARY ANTAGONIST IN A FALLOUT GAME WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:24, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- someone vandalised it I think they just typed redovir and deleted it WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I removed the speedy deletion tag because I am unfamiliar with video games. However, the article was created in 2013; given that it has been live for 11 years, I would think that someone would have created a redirect if it was necessary.
- I am not doing anything to you personally. JSFarman (talk) 19:42, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I made it 2 days ago WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:45, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Do me a favour and revert the thing the guy did that deleted every single part of the article, he deleted every part and just typed random letters WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:45, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I am sorry for my apparent annoyance, but I have had a horrible experience with Wikipedia staff offering instructions that are extremely hard to follow and fit for a literal wiki veteran WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 19:49, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Aha! I didn't look at the article history, but the redirect was created by Nikkimaria, who is one of Wikipedia's most experienced and respected editors. The article that you published had no valid references.
- I totally get that it can be difficult for new editors to follow the guidance. I have been editing for more than 12 years and I am still learning my way around. You might find The Wikipedia Adventure helpful. Please ping me if you have questions! JSFarman (talk) 20:20, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- there was no other sources by that logic kellogg cannot have a page despite being extremely popular... Are you making sense of this WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:22, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- If someone is popular, or some character, popular enough for a page on Wikipedia, there should be reliable secondary sources saying so. No reliable secondary sources, no article. And please adopt a more formal tone when communicating with other editors; this isn't the internet. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 20:33, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- If I adopted a formal manner at this point whilst in an arguement with about 50 editors on mobile I would be taking way longer than needed. But fine. Regardless, obviously you never played fallout. Millions of videos revolve around that. I quoted his Wikia from another wiki, which was all I found. If you have no idea what he is from maybe don't join an argument you have no expertise in. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:35, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. Still, there are no 50 other editors here on this talk page. "I quoted his Wikia from another wiki"--I don't know what that is supposed to mean. Wikia is unreliable in the first place and should never be quoted in one of our articles. No, I have never played Fallout, thanks for asking--but I do know a bit about writing for Wikipedia and about reliable sources, thanks. Anyway, to cut a long story short, if an article on Wikia is all you found, then there's no point trying to write it up here. Drmies (talk) 20:39, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Firstly, typo. I meant that I cited his article from another wiki. Yes, I was correct, and you do have experience, but not on the subject. He deserves an article due to his fame. Try yourself. He has a massive wiki page on another wikia. But, sadly, i cannot find other sources, but that does not mean he should have none. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:45, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- that doesn't mean he shouldn't have an article* WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:46, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but that's exactly what that means. Also, Wikia has no standards and is written by fans, so that doesn't mean much. If you cannot find sources, then either there aren't any, or you need to look elsewhere. In the meantime I moved Draft:Seán O'Méara back to draft space because it was not ready, and cleaned it up some. Please tell your grandma I said hi, and next time you see her, let her talk and listen to her stories, if you don't already--grandmothers are sources of wisdom. Drmies (talk) 20:49, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I did she has dementia so I help her remember WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:50, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- By such logic even if he deserves an article but no citations are available he can't have one? In the scenario, let's say, Donald Trump was extremely well known obviously but had nothing written about him can he not have an article? WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 20:52, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Thank you for helping her. The scenario where Trump is famous without anyone writing about him is impossible. But we don't write "articles about famous people"--we write articles whose content is based on reliable sources. The more you find about Sean O'Meara, the more likely it is to go live. I found another one, by the way. Drmies (talk) 21:23, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wait I was talking about the kellogg article shoot. Anyways yeah I view this issue as resolved, trying to just get my Kellogg article re-published I guess. WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 21:28, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's an example. Also, i know you don't write about famous people but based on credible sources, but there aren't any and he is extremely popular. (Referring to the Kellogg article) WikipedianAncientHistorian (talk) 21:29, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
