User talk:Traeju8
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Traeju8, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Mike Wing, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I'm guessing you're the same person as User:thebigredco since you made basically the same edits. Whitewashing and promotional editing, as you have been doing at Mike Wing, is not acceptable on Wikipedia. :Jay8g [V•T•E] 16:43, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate you Jay8g. I am not paid by Mike Wing or anyone affiliated with him. I was researching him and noticed a bunch of information was missing and there were things in the Wikipedia that were actually incorrect like some of the charges, where he grew up, places he taught and even his education.
- So I thought I would try my hand and improving this profile since it had been untouched and since it was a small non-celebrity type it would be a good opportunity. I want to improve my editing for Wiki, so I completely understand. Please help me improve so I can make it accurate and include all sources and not the incorrect ones that have been there for years. I’m not trying to whitewash I’m trying to make sure all information is accurate. 75.104.106.205 (talk) 16:56, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Fixing errors is one thing, but removing all discussion of controversies and replacing it with promotional fluff is something else, and is not allowed. Here are my suggestions:
- Don't remove information about controversies, or try to reframe that information as a positive like you did with your second set of edits (the whole "Life Beyond Prison" section). This is clear whitewashing, regardless of intention. Don't remove it from the introduction, either.
- Don't add inline external links. This is almost always inappropriate.
- Don't add fluff/WP:Puffery (visible throughout your edits).
- Also, where did File:Mike Wing Bio Picture.jpg come from? If this is your "own work", as you claimed when uploading it, it is a strong indication that you have been working directly with Mike Wing. If not, it is a copyright violation.
- Finally, I still find it highly suspicious that your initial username just happened to be the same one used by a PR consulting company.
- If you want another opinion or more advice, people at WP:Teahouse can help you. :Jay8g [V•T•E] 18:57, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- We have added the COI to our profile we can take it from here @Traeju8 and also reached out to the Wiki mentor we have as well. Thanks everyone. The photo was sent to us from Mike because he did not have a photo on the wiki at all he is the owner of the photo and there's no copyright issue. Thebigredco (talk) 18:54, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
