Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Thardac, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

before the question. Again, welcome! -- Ponyobons mots 22:11, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Ponyo,
- I've been updating this article for years. It's the only record on the internet of the Executive at my alma mater's student union.
- I have no ties to the organization anymore, but I update the chart annually and have for the last decade.
- I have not touched the article itself, only the elected representative list which is easily confirmed each year on the org'd website.
- I lost my previous wiki account and used my current email to update the chart this year.
- My previous account was called Jfish44.
- I do not understand why the chart was removed, so I reversed the change. 131.104.23.82 (talk) 22:20, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, that was from my phone.
- I legit just update the chart - I try to do it in May when they get elected, but sometimes I slip. This year, I was on the ball.
- Please keep the chart on the page. I can ask someone else to update it if I'm personally an issue. Thardac (talk) 22:26, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not meant to be a document of record - it is an encyclopedia that includes information on notable topics that are verifiable through published reliable sources independent of the subject. Just a glance at the article makes it clear that individuals with a conflict of interest have been controlling the content for years. The inclusion of the names of private individuals who are non-public figures is discouraged in most cases - this content may be pertinent for the organization's website, but not Wikipedia as it is not a indiscriminate collection of information. Anyone affiliated with the Association would also have a conflict of interest and would need to follow the policies and guidelines I outlined in my welcome message above.-- Ponyobons mots 22:33, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Noted.
- Please delete the entire page then, since the University of Guelph's Central Student Association is not a business of note.
- Yours,
- John Jfishe44 (talk) 22:36, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, I'm very sorry about the account change. I did think this one got deleted, which is why I made a new one.
- But on the other browser I had open, it turns out Google remembered my password. This was not intentional. Jfishe44 (talk) 22:38, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

Multiple accounts
[edit]Ok, now you're edit warring to restore disputed content using multiple accounts, which is a violation of our policies regarding multiple accounts. -- Ponyobons mots 22:35, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not intentional.
- I won't touch the page again.
- Thanks for your work with Wikipedia. I really didn't intend for this to be a fight.
- -John Jfishe44 (talk) 22:40, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Definitely not a fight, you just managed to check a bunch of "what not to do" boxes in very quick succession. Your main account (Jfishe44) remains unblocked for the entirety of Wikipedia, save for the single article on Central Student Association. As of writing this, Wikipedia has 6.8M+ articles; perhaps you would be interested in contributing in an area where you're not in direct conflict with the topic?-- Ponyobons mots 22:49, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe another day.
- Thanks for staying positive.
- Cheers,
- -John (jfishe44) [again, on my phone and I do not remember my password, but the notif went to my email] 67.70.62.80 (talk) 07:05, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
