Fair use rationale for Image:EOKbasket.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:EOKbasket.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Panellinios logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Panellinios logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop Adding nikopolidis and konstantinou as notable players. The've done nothing for our club and the fans hate them.--KaragouniS 08:53, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here we write only in English. Anyway, If you like these 2 traytors, it's your own problem. But none panathinaikos fan will ever consider them as "notables". Antoniadis went to Olympiakos in his late 30's and he had already player 14 years for Panathinaikos, leading us to glory moments like the Wembley final. Konstantinou and Nikopolidis not only didn't help us to succed in Greece, but when they were asked to stay with less money (something which was right if you remember, because Michalis was crappy and couldn't score even 10 goals for 2 consecutive seasons and Nikopolidis was 33 years old). So stop adding them or else you will be reported.--KaragouniS 09:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confused on this one. There wasn't a 1988 FIBA championship. They were held in 1986 and 1990. And also, the team was the Soviet Union in 86 and 90, not Russia. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 10:06, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Panathinaikos BC past rosters

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Panathinaikos BC past rosters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Panathinaikos BC past rosters. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ken Barlow (fictional character), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Ken Barlow. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Ken Barlow

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. PAO Roster

[edit]

Hey man don't get mad. I am just adding the players that were officially signed and the ones that were officially released. Dikoudis, Tomasevic, and Becirovic were officially released by the team and Pekovic, Verginis, and Fotsis all stated in the press that they signed contracts with the team. Please explain to me what Wikipedia guidelines I have broken then? Are you telling me that Wikipedia does NOT go by current facts or events but rather waits on the moderator of the Greek basketball team's website to decide to update his roster page? I certainly hope that is not what you are implying. If people are going to get this anal about the basketball sections on this site then screw it. Wikipedia is becoming a joke because of this type of nonsense.––Wiki Greek Basketball (talk) 09:48, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Galis

[edit]

I watched many, many games of Galis. He often played point guard. I have no idea what you are talking about. I will assume you do not understand what a point guard is. The majority of the time Galis brought the ball up court, called the play, and put the team in their offense either for his own shot or to drive the ball and pass to someone when defenses crashed on him. It does not matter if you call him a shooting guard and if that was his position and Yiannakis was a point guard. Regardless Galis played point guard many, many, many times. Galis was a COMBO GUARD. I bet you are also one of the "fans" that believes Spanoulis is not a point guard. I was in coaching for many years and I assure you there is no way that Galis can be called a strict shooting guard and he many times played the point in the offense sets, a combo guard is what he was, not a pure shooting guard. - Wiki Greek Basketball (talk) 23:07, 01 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Panathinaikos depth chart

[edit]

As I showed you, the Euroleague website lists Bramos as a shooting guard. And if you want more, the Spanish League website also did. Here is the Spanish League listing him as an E which means shooting guard ---> [1] This same player spent the last two years of his career playing the shooting guard position in the Spanish club Gran Canaria. So it's not correct for you to pretend here that he strictly plays as a SF, when in fact he actually played shooting guard the last two years. Regardless, as I said, he is a SG/SF, NOT a SF. He is a swingman. That is what his position is actually called. It means he plays both the SG and the SF position. So I am not inserting my personal opinion into anything. And you are talking about Wikipedia rules.....I just showed you that Euroleague lists Bramos as a SG. I have no idea why you are getting so angry over this, but please try to be a little more friendly to you fellow editors that are just trying to help here. I am not doing any of the things that you accuse me of, not in any way. If you have such a problem with the depth charts, request them to be removed. Like I said, I have been for years seeing Diamantidis listed as a PG at that page, yet he has only played PG maybe 1/2 of one season out of the last 6-7 years. So it's not like that depth chart has ever been accurate, because it has not, and it's actually not accurate now in still having Diamantidis listed at a position he does not play. So if you are angry at the depth charts you don't need to take it out on me, because I am not the one that has always been keeping that article's depth chart wrong. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:EOKbasket.png.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work contained within this image, you will need to specify

  1. the creator of the original work
  2. the copyright status of the original work, usually indicated by adding a licensing tag. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:19, 25 June 2018 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PleaseStand (talk) 22:19, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
