[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Tim Wise are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. -- Irn (talk) 17:46, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I can't say I'm surprised that the cold dead hand of censorship has intervened. My comment was a response to a discussion of whether or not Tim Wise can be described as a racist - an assertion that has previously been included in the article and then (to no one's surprise) deleted. My contribution was therefore in exactly the appropriate place, so let's not pretend that you have intervened to delete it out of concern for the rules of Wikipedia. It was clearly too close to the knuckle. Best regards.Shiresman (talk) 20:04, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to thank you for the excellent references provided on the talk page for Ritchie Blackmore. It seems an editor is at pains to ensure the guy isn't described as being English despite there being references of him describing himself as being English and it not exactly being a controversial description to begin with. I have re-added the English description, but no doubt this boring person with some strange agenda will revert again, so would be appreciated if you could keep an eye on the article too so it can be easily demonstrated that it is just one editor pushing to removve any references to Blackmore being English?

Hi! Thanks for the message (by the way I'm very technically inept on Wikipedia and I'm not sure you will even get to see this, but here goes anyway). I'm not especially nationalistic but someone needs to take a stand against the relentless undermining of Englishness and English identity on Wikipedia. Blackmore's English, everybody knows it including the great man himself, but someone just doesn't want to accept it! I will certainly watch the article. If two people (or more) are prepared to edit English references back in when this character removes them, then hopefully we will wear him down eventually.
