If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Blanche on the Lam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Seduisant (talk) 02:00, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have to make a page for the Blanche on the Lam book for a class project and attempted to fill it in properly. My professor instructed us to make a stub page if the page didn't already exist but I guess I didn't go about that right. What do I do?

You did fine with Blanche on the Lam. Unfortunately, our new page patrollers are a bit too overzealous, so I will have a word with the user who requested deletion. Have you thought about expanding the book with references to secondary sources, for example, book reviews? What other sources have you found? I can help guide you in this process, if you like. Feel free to contact me on my talk page or ask further questions here or on the talk page of Talk:Blanche on the Lam. I have added more references for you to use (look in the further reading section) and look forward to your contributions. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! Hi. Did your professor explain that we can't use content copied from other websites? This is very important. Please see the message about "plagiarism and copyvio warning" from Prof. Hanley here. Unless you are quoting and attributing a source, we need you to write all material in your own words. If you need guidance, please read Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Writing about fiction. Otherwise, feel free to ask questions on the talk page where a helper will assist you. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 07:25, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
