November 2016[edit]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. KH-1 (talk) 00:09, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Ian.thomson (talk) 00:18, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking for a new chance. 331dot (talk) 07:28, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to give you another chance after seven years; I would just like to know what edits you intend to make, and if you will refrain from further spamming. 331dot (talk) 07:16, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will absolutely refrain from further spamming. I really had no idea. I also know that there is no SEO value in linking from Wiki :D
What I aim to edit, after giving it some serious thought, is the Arnold Schwarzenegger profile. My father is a good friend of his in the 1970's and there is very little about that era on there. I aim to get some of the information from my dad (who is getting quite old) before he decides not to share any more. Is that an ok thing to do? Either way, having a mark against me on wikipedia kind of sux - so I want to clear it regardless! Scottnailon (talk) 07:21, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately Wikipedia articles are not the place to post personal recollections or accounts, as those are impossible to independently verify and have not been subjected to fact checking and editorial control. Wikipedia content must be from published reliable sources with a reputation of fact checking and editorial control. However, perhaps your dad can help you to locate published reliable sources with additional information about Gov. Schwarzenegger. That said, since you seem to want to improve the project, I will give you another chance. I'd suggest reviewing some of the introductory pages and possibly using the new user tutorial which may help you. 331dot (talk) 07:28, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you, I will do so.
As for personal reflections, no I was going for facts alone. I will check out the resources first though. Scottnailon (talk) 09:10, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
also, for interest sake, check out The Arnold collection. there are some great stories about Arnold in Australia. Scottnailon (talk) 11:18, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Scottnailon, you really shouldn't be writing about your father. The draft you created was really promotional and obviously written with the assistance of ChatGPT. As you have already been blocked once, please be very careful what you write in the future. Qcne (talk) 13:13, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Nailon moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Robert Nailon. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Youknowwhoistheman (talk) 16:08, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
