Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Rae Valentine (Singer) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Rae Valentine (Singer). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, RaeValentine, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ~ GB fan 11:04, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is based on your statement here that you are not Rae Valentine. You can not use her name and edit about her. Also in the same statement you talk about we and us. Has more than one person had access to this account? Finally, why did you "need" to make the page? ~ GB fan 11:08, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You forgot to answer the question, above. Yamla (talk) 19:47, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry I had answered the question. Don't know, how did it not reflect. Also, only I had access to this account and its just a contribution article to the wikipedia. As, we are allowed to provide our inputs. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RaeValentine (talkcontribs) 17:59, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Again you are saying "we" and "our" Are you working with someone else on the article? Another question you did not address above, why did you need to make the page? In addition to those questions, I have another concern. You say you have no connection to Rae Valentine, but you also say at Commons that you took the two pictures of her. If you took those pictures, especially the posed shot at the top of the article, you must have some kind of connection to her. ~ GB fan 22:25, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been submitted to wikipedia as a contribution & Not for any promotional purposes. Its only me who has been working on this article. I made this page only to add a contribution to wikipedia as she is a known singer here. Also, her pictures are available on her social media and the picture that has been used above, is also there on spotify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RaeValentine (talkcontribs) 13:27, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

So are you saying you didn't take the pictures you used on the article but copied them from her social media sites? ~ GB fan 17:31, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Sir. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RaeValentine (talkcontribs) 18:13, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
