Orphaned non-free image (Image:1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition Blue Print of Marconi Plaza at Oregon Ave with Liberty Bell Square.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition Blue Print of Marconi Plaza at Oregon Ave with Liberty Bell Square.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:34, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your note

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your note at my talk page. You have a reply. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:42, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of George A. Hamid, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.hamidcircus.com/about/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 07:11, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:AquaramaTheateroftheSeaEntrance1963BrochureInside.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:AquaramaTheateroftheSeaEntrance1963BrochureInside.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:06, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of George A. Hamid

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article George A. Hamid, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

lacks references to 3rd party sources demonstrating notability of this subject

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. RadioFan (talk) 09:57, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The New York Times article and IAAPA link that you provided are sufficiently verifiable, so I have rescued the article. Please expand it (but not by pasting text from copyrighted websites - you'll need to rewrite what you find). - Fayenatic (talk) 19:54, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
  • i would greatly appreciate if you could point out any mistakes i made, which i will be most happy to discuss, instead of making sweeping statements, like "diluting", which are of no help.
  • taking out some of the pretzel producers certainly is not "dilutinig".
  • indeed, i used the term "party pretzels" to point out, that pretzel sticks and their various forms belong to the family of snacks such as potato chips, popcorn, nuts+bolts etc. do you find this wrong or misleading? if you have a better term or if there happens to be an "official" one, fine. the term "snack" would not be correct because snack also covers other foods that are eaten between meals.
  • the balance in the article between u.s. and german speaking countries is more or less coincidental but happens to reflect the present and historical importance of the pretzel in both areas and is justified. Sundar1 (talk) 07:57, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Federal Pretzel Baking Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 01:44, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:AquaramaArtistRendition.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:AquaramaArtistRendition.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:34, 10 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 06:34, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kal Rudman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unclear that this individual meets requirements of WP:BIO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jayjg (talk) 01:01, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why it was deleted as the page with the Kal Lucile Rudman Foundation was acceptable on wiki and the man is not??? Although he is living his bio is an important part of pop music culture. Just saying Pretzelfactory (talk) 08:17, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Latin Casino Theatre Restaurant Cherry Hill New Jersey.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Latin Casino Theatre Restaurant Cherry Hill New Jersey.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Sally Star TV Hostess.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sally Star TV Hostess.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 21:18, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?

[edit]

Hello, Pretzelfactory. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Federal Pretzel Baking Company, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 4pq1injbok (talkcontribs) 21:54, April 24, 2013‎

Thanks for the Notice. It is a word to the wise for sure. My interest of 20th Century Philadelphia is one of the connections and focusing on subjects that influenced the general population, locally and at times nationally or internationally. The question is it 'Personal'? What a subject "evokes" is what I like to contribute as well as pure facts, but you are correct about maintaining balance. Thanks again. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of snack foods, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages German, Italian and American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Response (1) The article contained no "puffery" per the issue of advertising. Only Objective facts were included ..."Advertising. Information about companies and products must be written in an objective and unbiased style, free of puffery." (2) Note among the economic consulting firms already listed in Wiki, it compares to be same levels and those article were not deleted. So just do not understand the challenge in comparison to others, but do understand the need for note. Thanks

Note: This debate has been included in the Article Rescue Squadron's list of content for rescue consideration. for Econsult Solutions: First off, I am totaling lost as NO "Tag" was established to contest the speedy deletion, twice in a row, both for the original and re-written article. This shortchanges any discussion to validate wiki criteria. Two reasons were given (1) Not notable (2) Advertising. well I think that was overstated. I feel the article was written objectively to establish a "STUB" for a company that has a 30 year record and "major" impact on decision makers actions and policies in the Philadelphia area. Millions of dollars and Social needs have been influenced by the analysis. The projects are widely covered in the media and in testimony but nothing exist about the company itself. This a advocate demonstrates the wiki article is much needed to provide the "objective" source of such an influence to Government and Private Industry I.e. Major Sports Teams, Comcast Communication, City of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, Housing & Community development agencies and non-profit organizations. This information started as a "stub". Then rewritten to address issue one but advertising comes up again. BUT ->Most importantly the fact there was NO "tag" to contest and it seems the rules of wiki seem to have been hastily applied {{Help me}} please.
As a non-admin, I can't see deleted versions, so I can only access the version that is at least temporarily still cached at http://72.30.186.176/search/srpcache?ei=UTF-8&p=Econsult+Solutions&vm=r&fr=yfp-t-900&u=http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=Econsult+Solutions&d=27022270436414722&mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&w=bb7YxDEtpQ8nITmXwVvQgelekYZWVKlm&icp=1&.intl=us&sig=Wt6Zb9VG_km.kLeIV87Zzw--  ; the tag is in the middle of the red speedy deletion warning box. It was in article space, without independent references, and almost complete marketing spam. See Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies); a draft would need to clearly show, using /only/ the independent in-depth references about the company, published articles or features in unrelated books, magazines, news programs, or newspapers how it meets or exceeds those guidelines. Not advertisements, blogs, business partners, directory listings, forums, interviews, its own webpages, press releases, product endorsements, quotes, social media, or YouTube videos. Dru of Id (talk) 18:51, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I concur with tat assessment. Also, "nothing exists about the company itself" is an admission that it doesn't satisfy Wikipedia's notability guideline. I'm not sure I understand the "tag to contest" issue - indeed there wasn't; did you want to contest the deletion? There's a big "contest the speedy deletion" button in the deletion message box that would have allowed you to contest the deletion on the talk page.
The current version is somewhat better, but notability is still a major issue (and it's not inherited from the notable projects they worked on), and it still contains phrases such as "the team expertise of top senior advisors who already have publicly know careers and accomplishments" - that does sound unduly promotional to me. File permission problem with File:South Philadelphia High School 1907-1955.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:South Philadelphia High School 1907-1955.jpg, which you've attributed to http://sphsalumni.com/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC) Effort to save significance. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of NICOLA MONACHESI, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.projectsmartart.org/art-encyclopedia/pages/cni7rpzvs6/nicola-monachesi-philadelphia.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. [edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Naval Hospital Philadelphia ExecOfficerQuarters Prior to closing HABS PA-6206-27.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Federal Pretzel Baking Company shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
You added two sources for one (already sourced) undisputed, basic fact. I reverted you. Per WP:BRD, the next step is to take the issue to the article's talk page and discuss the issue. Rather than doing so, you have twice restored the same problematic edit. Please discuss the issue on the article's talk page before continuing.

Additionally, adding two versions of a youtube video to different sections does nothing to improve the article. Per WP:YOUTUBE, very few youtube videos are reliable sources (the exceptions being official accounts of reliable sources, such as the BBC, NBC News, etc.) Additionally, off-site mirrors of Wikipedia articles are specifically problematic under WP:ELNO. As always, if you disagree or do not understand, please discuss the issue on the article's talk page.

Finally, your non-response response to the issue of you possibly having a conflict of interest on this article is still relevant and should be addressed, as outlined at WP:COI. SummerPhDv2.0 15:21, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response by Pretzelfactory (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2020 (UTC): Thanks for the Notice. However I did post to talk page on this subject and got no response about the good faith to ADD REFERENCES per prior comments by SummerPHd!! However, I also further checked the wiki page of the editor SummerPHd who has been vandalized over 184 times and seems to be unsettling to many authors/editor which leads me to believe that SummerPHd needs a review of the overwhelming volume of edits to many articles) Thanks again for redirecting and mediating this issue Pretzelfactory (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the article needs additional references to verify the currently unsourced content. Adding multiple citations for already sourced, noncontroversial basic facts does not resolve that issue or improve the article in any way.
Yes, over the years, numerous vandals, edit-warriors, hot heads, etc. have vandalized my user page. If you have investigated these editors and feel my contributions are a problem, feel free to take the issue to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents or another appropriate venue discussed at WP:DR. If, on the other hand, you are merely unhappy with me, have decided I am the "enemy" and the enemy of your enemy is your friend, I would strongly encourage you to look at the specific editors who have vandalized my page. Happy hunting.
Beyond that, if you do not have anything substantial to back up your vague accusations, please be advised that baseless accusations are a form of personal attack and are not acceptable on Wikipedia.
Finally, I encourage you to abide by Wikipedia's policies on editing topics with which you have a close personal connection. Individuals with a conflict of interest, particularly those representing the subject of the article, are strongly advised not to directly edit the article. - SummerPhDv2.0 01:09, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Economic consulting has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Hi, proposing deletion because i) Article is not well maintained, lacks decent content or meaning, has no references etc. I suggest taking the meaning (content: economics consulting) out and inserting into related consulting pages. I can only gues what this article is trying to say, but yes, there are consultants who look at economics of course. There are groups, companies, institutes, so the meaning is there, but this article is poor quality, and should for the field of consulting speak different language. KR

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 17387349L8764 (talk) 15:40, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
