Your article submission Patrick Lamb

[edit]

Hello Plproduction. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Patrick Lamb.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 17:01, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Plproduction/Sample page requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.patricklamb.com/bio. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is new to me. While I now understand what went wrong, I thought I was in the sandbox testing to see how this all worked. How can I delete the sample page? Laurie for Patrick Lamb. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plproduction (talkcontribs)
The page has already been deleted. No page on Wikipedia - sandboxes or user subpages included - are exempt from Wikipedia's copyright policy. You may not post copyrighted material on Wikipedia, even if you are the copyright holder or have their permission to do so. The only way to do this is for the verified copyright owner to donate the material. In doing so, they permanently and irrevocably release the material under a Creative Commons license, which allows anyone to copy, re-use, distribute and adapt the material into derivative works, free of charge and in perpetuity.
There is also the matter of your username, which represents a business and therefore violates our username policy - you have been blocked for this reason. If you wish to be unblocked, you will need to propose a new username that represents you as an individual. Also, since you appear to either work for or represent Patrick Lamb, then you have to disclose your conflict of interest and paid editing status if applicable.
Please also be aware that not every person/place/thing is worthy of inclusion on Wikipedia. Any topic must meet the notability criteria - in the case of a musician, the notability criteria for musicians. We require the existence of significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. We don't care what a person wishes to say about him/herself. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:18, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Orange Mike | Talk 21:02, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
