Your recent editing history at European Cup and UEFA Champions League records and statistics shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Greenman (talk) 12:56, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Need your help

Hey, since you're one of the top contributors on WP:FOOTY (from what I've seen), I've started a discussion regarding categories relating to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers that I'm trying to sort out. You can read the discussion right here. – Michael (talk) 04:56, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

European Cup and UEFA Champions League records and statistics

Your comments carry no weight: (1) The table you want to remove needs no source indications, as it was obtained by simple processing of easily verifiable raw data. (2) The fact that "CL winners traditionally [are not] grouped by city" is completely immaterial, for Wikipedia does not necessarily need to conform to tradition. The fact of the matter is that the "By City" table has been in this article for 3 1/2 years. Over this rather long period, the article was surely visited by many thousands Wikipedians, who obviously do not share your views about the table or else they would have removed it. You need to respect the work and opinions of others. So back off and move on. Angelo Somaschini (talkcontribs) 18:17, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Response to your comment in my talk page dated 21 October 2013, 22:24: Your argument has no merit and carries no weight with me. The clubs listed in the table are, in fact, correctly grouped by city not only according to encyclopaedic sources (see, for example, Wikipedia itself: "Manchester United Football Club is an English professional football club, based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester"; "Chelsea Football Club /ˈtʃɛlsiː/ is an English football club based in Fulham, London"; "Club Atlético de Madrid, SAD (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈkluβ aðˈletiko ðe maˈðɾið]), commonly known as Atlético de Madrid, or Atlético, is a Spanish football club based in Madrid"; "Arsenal Football Club is an English Premier League football club based in Holloway, London" [emphasis added], and so forth - feel free to look them all up), but also as a matter of widespread popular culture and common sense (see, for example, countless references in daily newspapers across Europe to games such as "ManU vs. ManC" or "AC Milan vs. Inter Milan" or "Tottenham vs. Arsenal" or "Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid" as, respectively, "Manchester derby", "Milan derby", "London derby", "Madrid derby." Therefore, the "By City" table is clearly not "spurious" and it must stay where it has been for the past 3 1/2 years. Angelo Somaschini (talkcontribs) 9:37, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

2002 FIFA World Cup

Did you read WP:COMMONALITY? North Americans do not use the term stadia although they should be able to infer the meaning. It's not about your preference, but for a change for everyone to read and understand. Both stadiums' and stadia are used in British English and so it makes sense to use the former. Sir Alex Ferguson Way

Hi mate, I think we should create the Sir Alex Ferguson Way as we have Matt Busby way article aswell. As I don't know much of the area could you perheps do so?

FC Levadia

Hello. Please explain your view on messing with the 'UEFA club competition results' table here before You change it back again. It's not using templates in a text. It's a table. The point of templates is to keep the table simple and short. (Klõps (talk) 21:52, 28 October 2013 (UTC))

Btw Your arguments on my talk page should belong here. (Klõps (talk) 22:17, 28 October 2013 (UTC))

Hi there PJ, how's it going?

regarding this player, two questions (more one question and one "situation"): 1 - if, like you told me last year or so, his spell with Blackburn is duly documented, how come it does not even appear in the infobox (no year, no club, no nothing)? 2 - you were here at WP when i entered seven years ago, so you must know this, we are encouraged to write simple intros regarding nationality, so we should write "...is an English (or other nation) footballer who plays..." or, in the case of naturalized players like Pepe, write "...is a Portuguese footballer who..." (as he plays for that national team) or leave it just blank ("...is a footballer", period), that "...of Angolan descent..." in Brandão's article belongs in the start of storyline, ask anyone.

Obviously, still regarding item #2, don't worry i was just notifying you, did not alter anything in that regard in my last contribution (only updated his current team and corrected national team stuff in box), last time i tried to relocate the descent bit you immediately reverted me so i'm not going to edit war over that.

Keep it up, "see" you --AL (talk) 15:15, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Don't get me wrong, i also have zero problems with the article's present introduction, was only trying to make it coherent with other players. --AL (talk) 17:13, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. Welsh National Rugby Union Team

The Lions tries do have relevance as the link takes you to a page consisting of Shane Williams international tries. Also it brings more knowledge to who ever reads it and is a good way to broaden their knowledge please stop editing it back.

Welsh National Rugby Union Team

It does have relevance as I have already explained and please clam down your doing the editing abuse thing. Eol28 (talk) 17:20, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Eol28

Calm down well done he would be the top scorer whats your point if I changed it to 60 I would get your point but i Put (+2 Lions) this dose not affect what was already there it just expands to information on the page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 17:26, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Come on what damage can it do. relax a little.

Eol28 (talk) 17:35, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Eol28

what new comers go to that page its only used by the people who already know about rugby union at the least. I'm not going to spend all of my time trying to revert this as I unlike you have things to do try not to cry.

Eol28 (talk) 17:49, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Eol28

I really think you didn't get my point, I don't care what you think and I don't understand why you bother to keep changing it back plus i think i put a compromise in to it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

sorry for any offence I have caused you but I strongly believe it should include something to do with his 2 lions tries — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 17:59, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

sorry have it your way your boring me now I know why i'm doing this i just don't know why you are — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 18:07, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Maybe you should spend some time expanding player articles like Jordan Williams as I think you would be good at it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 18:11, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

and I am being positive you said discuss it and I have — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eol28 (talkcontribs) 18:13, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

I was not trying to get my own way, only to put in an alternative opinion and i tried to be nice but your just so awkward sometimes. I offer a suggestion and you complain at me. stop talking to me and do somthing positive. Eol28 (talk) 18:23, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Eol28

Thanks for doing the Jordan Williams (Ruby Union) page like I suggested. See just relax a bit and do something to expand more well known welsh rugby union players with small pages.

Intro Pa Modou Kah

Hi there. I have a too long backlog, so sometimes it takes some time for me to comment on stuff, this comment is about this edit from September. :) I thought there was a consensus to not include "Nation-born Nationality footballer" in the opening paragraph in footballer biographies per WP:OPENPARA. I wouldn't mind to mention that Pa Modou Kah was born in Gambia and later moved to Norway in the lead, but saying that "Pa Modou Kah (born 30 July 1980) is a Gambian-born Norwegian international footballer" is a bit too much IMO. Additionally, the info you added about him moving to Norway at the age of 8, is as far as I'm concerned unsourced - would you mind adding a citation for it? Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 10:20, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Peter Schmeichel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Gregory (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi

Why have you removed my edit from Zeki Fryers. I have sourced the image as I work for the club and uploaded the image via Wiki Commons. Hi there PJ, AL "here",

First of all, i apologize for "screwing" the infobox of this player, force of habit I guess... Now, i'd like to have your permission (not that anyone needs anybody's permission to edit here, i just do it out of common courtesy) to reinstate my other edits, if it's possible.

1 - no need to say number of int'l caps in intro, not needed for such a poor career with his country, it's developped in the proper int.career section; 2 - when he moved to Santander in August 2003 in a season-long loan, it's obvious it would be for the 2003-04 season, so to write "season-long loan" would suffice methinks; 3 - i've been told by several trusted users (some admins) that you should write "2004-05 season" or "2008-09 campaign" instead of "2004-05" or "2008-09" only because it would be misleading (people would link we were talking about two YEARS instead of one SEASON). Now you, a native speaker of English, do exactly what i was advised not to do? Puzzling...

Cheers --AL (talk) 15:14, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm one of the "trusted users" Vasco is referring to when talking about writing '2008–09 season' rather than simply '2008–09' in article prose, interested to hear your take on it PeeJay. GiantSnowman 18:36, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Club Templates

Hey, I started a discussion on WT:FOOTY regarding the American/Canadian soccer club templates and I'm wondering if you can give your imput on the situation. – Michael (talk) 19:22, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

While the difference could perhaps be considered noteworthy w/ some work, the contents of the cover need to receive a fair amount of coverage in a reliable secondary source. For example, Ico uses a second cover because multiple sources felt that the cover was significant to the game's commercial failure on the PS2. I don't think the Wii cover by itself has enough significance to be shown. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 21:19, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Nexus 5 article cleanup

Hello there! While I do appreciate your edit on the Nexus 5 article, I'm a bit sad that you compacted all of the references I've painstakingly entered in an "expanded" source code form. Their source code is now so garbled and unreadable... I know, not even nearly all of the references were "expanded", but even those few made things a bit more readable. :( -- Dsimic (talk) 18:50, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Bert Maddlethwaite

Say PeeJay, does the player Bert Maddlethwaite was ever on ManUtd? either on youth level or above but havne't played? as the article about him will be deleted tomorrow I hope you may know so we can save it.

Hi. Thank you for participating in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Next matchday scenarios. I have proposed a conclusion that addresses your concern regarding reliable sources. Would appreciate a comment. Ivan Volodin (talk) 10:34, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. The thread is "Australia national association football team". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 01:01, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

I am sorry... ;) I'd like to see the relevant Rules. Unfortunately, I could not find it. Best regards, --►Cekli829 14:36, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Is this somehow different from the Charity Shield? The Rambling Man (talk) 15:00, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
Cekli829 makes a fair point, where does Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs state that wins in friendly tournaments shouldn't be listed? I suspect that if the tournament is notable enough for a Wikipedia article, there's no objection in including it in club articles. The Rambling Man (talk) 15:59, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
Well I think before making mass reversions, you should have some consensus behind your personal opinion. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:05, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
As I said, if you want to make mass reversions, you should have a consensus, there doesn't appear to be anything in our MOS about this, so you're just imparting your personal opinion on these articles. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:12, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
{{sofixit}} and don't make mass reversions without clear consensus to do so. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:17, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

United v Arsenal 1990

Hi mate, I started an article in my userspace about that fiery match and I'll plan on moving it to the main site once it's good enough and meets the standards. If those two encounters in 2003 and 2004 are worthy of an article then so is this one, specially so that for the point deduction imposed on both teams (only time apparently that any team has been docked points in England for player misconduct).

Feel free to add to it and get other United/Arsenal fans to help out, since you know more footballing Wikipedians than I do. User:VEO15/Manchester United F.C. v Arsenal F.C. (20 October 1990) VEOonefive 16:33, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Be careful...

This reversion implied that the edit you reverted was vandalism. It clearly was not. Please do not make this mistake again. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:15, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Reminder

The D of WP:BRD is "discuss". You may have made a shedload of reversions per your own personal preference and "per BRD" but you haven't discussed this anywhere (at least, until I started a thread at WT:FOOTY) and worse, you haven't discussed your mass reversions with the editor in question. It's not just rude, it's tantamount disruption. Add that to false accusations (implied or otherwise) of vandalism, you're now sailing close to the wind. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:18, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Your revert on 2013–14 Manchester United F.C. season

Hi,

I understood why you reverted me, as i had similar concerns, but went for what appeared to be more standard as per the Wikipedia pages on each Premier League team's season. In any case, I have raised the question at the Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) to ask if there is any way to deal with it. Feel free to join in the discussion.

new logo of the Heineken Cup

Hello

I need to update the Heineken Cup logo but unfortunately I can't.

Are you able to change the file? If yes, could you change it for me please? I could send you the logo by email.

Thank you

Youth years

I am almost positive that there is consensus at FOOTY, which came from the Luke Freeman situation, that states once a player has begun their 'senior' career then their 'youth' career is over. GiantSnowman 20:45, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

Order of content on Wayne Rooney

If you look at any complete article on a footballer, such as Zinedine Zidane, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and so on (I can go on but I don't want to be annoying), you will see that a "Personal life" or "Outside football" section is located between "International career" and "Career statistics". I am just trying to match the order of contents with other articles. Also, in all the mentioned articles as well as in most football player articles on Wikipedia, the "International goals" table goes under the Career statistics section, not under International career. Premier league table template

Hi. You are one of the editors involved in the Premier league table template at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 121#Displaying a part of the table. The work is very close to the end and the template now looks like the one currently used at 2013–14 Premier League. I just wanted to see if you could take a look at Template:2013–14 Premier League table/sandbox and the result of the template that can be seen at User:Spudgfsh/sandbox. Please take a look at it and comment on the result. Then it is only to decide if we should highlight the team or not and then we should be ready to use it. Discussion about that on Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Highlighting or bolding. Thank you!. QED237 (talk) 11:31, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Premier league fixtures

Hi. I think you know better then me about the premier league fixtures and the copyright law. Twice today editors removed my comment not to show the PL fixtures on 2013–14 Sunderland A.F.C. season‎ and when informing SuperJew at his talkpage i got the responses That is preposterous! (...) and RIDICULOUS!. If you have some info to add on Talk:2013–14 Sunderland A.F.C. season or on the editors talkpage feel free to add that, it would be great. Thank you. QED237 (talk) 16:58, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Templates

I agree with the nomination for deletion of Template:FIFA Club World Cup Silver Ball and Template:FIFA Club World Cup Bronze Ball. And you can also delete the template of topscores, because FIFA Club World Cup is a short competition and FIFA not give any award for top goalscorer. Jun19 (talk) 10:48, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Colin Heath

Bit of a newbie here so not sure whether to amend or not but Knaresborough Town website claims they are AFC hence that is what I added to Colin Heaths page. The wiki page for the club is missing the A of the AFC. No idea about naming conventions but given that they are calling themselves that presumably there is an argument to change it... Phil Northing (talk) 23:56, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

John Obi Mikel

Hey, just saw you added the ManU category back. Isn't this only added when the player played a match (official league/cup) for the team? And Mikel did not play such a game, if any at all. Kante4 (talk)

My understanding is, that the players have to played a game to have the category added. It happened also with the Özil/Bale transfers this summer. Some editors added it, others said he has to play a game (also my preferred way). The same in the NBA, i know. Maybe a good thing to bring it up at Footy? Kante4 (talk) 01:58, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Because i experimented it otherwise i wanted to ask/talk before doing any action. I see it different than you but that does not matter. Most of the time it's no problem. Kante4 (talk) 02:03, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

1999 Charity Shield

I've been contemplating improving Arsenal's 98-99 kit graphics since including the third one, it looks too plain to me. I will get cracking with it in a bit.

Happy new year pal. VEOonefive 14:24, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Tom. Regarding your recent edits to the above list, I'd like to explain why I reverted your edits, as I do not intend to start an edit war with you. With regards to image size, 200px is the optimal size and has been approved in the 30–30 club FLC, passed back in September 2012. The thumb|upright format renders the image too small and leaves too much whitespace. Also, there is no need to shrink the images as 200px does not interfere with the table's formatting. With regards to the "work" and "publisher" parameters, the cite news template almost always doesn't use "work" (i.e. utilizing solely The New York Times as opposed to making that the work and placing the The New York Times Company as the publisher). And the "work" parameter becomes completely unnecessary when it has the exact same name as the publisher. You stated in your edit summary that "the work and publisher are not the same, as premierleague.com is just one work produced by the Premier League." Can you tell me what other major websites are maintained by the Premier League? If none, the "work" parameter is made redundant. —Bloom6132 (talk) 12:46, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Can you at least discuss and reach a consensus instead of edit warring (which I explicitly stated above not to do). Your comment "[r]egarding image sizes, I think you're wrong in this case" is completely inaccurate. I've already listed you an example of an FLC that was passed using 200px format. I've presented evidence supporting my case; why don't you show me an FLC that rejected the use of image sizes? Instead of resorting to retorts like "that is your problem, I'm afraid." No, it's not my problem, that was decided in FLC and ruled in favour of my argument. —Bloom6132 (talk) 15:01, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
And thanks for admitting that the Premier League does not maintain other websites. Case closed, "work" parameter is for the "cite web" template, not for "cite book" or "cite journal". My intention is to get this list to FLC – what's yours? —Bloom6132 (talk) 15:10, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
So are you suggesting that six reviewers (including two FL directors) simply overlooked the issue of image sizing and mindlessly supported/promoted the list? I mean give me a break – surely you have to have a better argument than that! —Bloom6132 (talk) 15:20, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
I've read it long before you brought it up – thank you very much. And thank you for finally compromising by leaving the pics as simply a thumb with no upright parameter. Ironically, the pics are now even bigger than when at 200px. —Bloom6132 (talk) 15:39, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Reference Errors on 4 January

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:21, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

David Johnson

Good work! I've re-rated the article for both quality and importance. GiantSnowman 10:19, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Um I think it needs a few more references - "as the club secured successive promotions to the First Division" and "Ipswich finished fifth in the First Division table that season, and went on to lose 2–0 on aggregate to Charlton Athletic in the play-off semi-finals" are not sourced; also the stats table should have probably each season individual references. UEFA European Championship

Don't you threaten to warn me when you're deleting the history of the tournament. Change it again without any reasoning and you're reported. RidiQLus (talk) 23:54, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

pot kettle black

lease discuss them rather than charging through the encyclopaedia like a bull in a china shop. After all, you shouldn't change things just because you don't like them the way they are

That is exactly what you're doing. You will find most players have the leage they're in and stating it should not be that way due to people having to edit it each season, that is idiotic as the pages are edited daily, nevermind once a year. Also loans are in italics on most players pages, this has always been the way. the alignment is for ease in future use, what you're doing is making is much more difficult for anybody wanting to edit for no reason what-so-ever other than it is wehat YOU want.

Pawac (talk) 00:14, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

    • no, the way it is. Loans are in italics, they are on most pages, you're just removing it because you don't like it, just like your other disruptive edits. Take your own advice, I'm doing nothing different to what you're doing in regards to edits/undoing! Except that I am ADDING information that is needed, improving alignment for other users and correcting the format with italics, whilst you're just undoing it, whilst also removing other correct formatting (such as Hull City A.F.C. to Hull City AFC), because you don't like it.Pawac (talk) 00:24, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
      • So what is the excuse for your terrible etiquette given your time here? You're the one being stubborn, undoing everything constantly just because you don't like it! Stop acting like a 5 year old that's dropped his sweets with petty remarks like "bull in a china shop" despite you being the one who started this and doing exactly the same, & grow up!Pawac (talk) 00:33, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Very interesting that you did not tell the full story on project footy, says a lot, a real lot. Pawac (talk) 00:54, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for proving that is was YOU that was supposed to contact project footy and not me, despite what you incorrectly claim. You just stated that it is for the person who made the edit and not the undo to take it to project footy and it was you who made the edit and me who undid it. Just as I suspected, you don't know what you're doing.Pawac (talk) 01:02, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

"It's very easy to prove that you are trying to rewrite history when the edit logs are right there"

And yes you try, thanks again for providing the proof that I was the one who undid the edits first and not you, it's right there in front of you, Now you're trying to change history because you don't like the way it is, typical. Put your glasses on and look again, I was the one who undid your edit, it is right here, here and here if you would just open your eyes.Pawac (talk) 01:13, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

  • If anybody doesn't have a leg to stand on it is you, hense why you refused to tell the whole story on project footy. You must be blind, if you cannot see on the edit history that it is painfully clear that I am the one who undid the first edit, then I really, really pitty you. No wonder you keep resorting to such petty remarkes like that. No leg to stand on & no eyes to see what is in plain sight for everybody, no wonder you put off going to project footy for so long and then refused to post the whole story and the truth, clearly you're grasping at straws with this who undid first nonsense anyway, especially now when you're incapable of seing the edit history that proves without a shadow of a doubt that you made an edit and then I undid it. Clearly you're incapable of growing up with such childish remarks, leave it to project footy and next time you post, maybe tell them the entire story? A massive giveaway to who doesn't have a leg to stand on when you concele most of the story, pathetic too. Tatty-bye.Pawac (talk) 01:30, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Hey, sorry about the edit on the FIFA World Cup 2010 Group C page

I added the word "controversially" to a sentence regarding the disallowed goal in the USA v Slovenia game. You removed the word on the basis that I did not have a source. I undid the revision but I accidentally did not explain myself. In order to make it less unclear, I simply changed the word into a link to the 2010 FIFA World Cup controversies list where the issue is discussed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adnan7631 (talkcontribs) 06:29, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Alex Bruce

Hello. Seeing as your edit summary wasn't particularly informative, I was wondering if you'd like to explain why this article should stop following the documentation at {{Cite news}}, which says the publisher parameter isn't normally used with periodicals? Or why you're insisting on using the undotted form of FC to abbreviate the full name of the publisher for football club websites, when the article had used the dotted form since 2007 and the webpages themselves tend to spell out football club? I'm not convinced of the need for British Broadcasting Corporation as well as BBC Sport, seeing as BBC Sport is the division that publishes the BBC Sport website, BBC is a worldwide-well-known abbreviation, and nobody knows these days what it stands for. Similarly Sky Sports/BSkyB, which you haven't expanded. You were right about Los Angeles Galaxy, sorry about that. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:13, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Don't blame you not reading template documentation: the cite news one gets longer by the minute. I think the reasoning behind "not normally" including the publisher is that there are publications whose credibility would be clarified by showing them to be part of a major publishing group, whereas with major broadsheets or well-known regional newspapers it doesn't really add anything. Think the neatness of dots is in the eye of the beholder: you're a fair bit younger than me, and it probably makes a difference. I can definitely confirm it isn't easy restraining oneself from changing an established style that isn't to one's taste ;) cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:00, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Tom Burke (footballer)

Hi PeeJay - why was my edit on the above removed? Cheers, Fergananim (talk) 16:18, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Okay, point taken about sources, but I'm stunned to think you'd need sources to back up surnames as obviously Irish as Burke, Cassidy (surname), Connolly (surname), Flynn, Hennessey, O'Shaughnessy, O'Sullivan, Lynch (surname). Seriously? Fergananim (talk) 16:31, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
And Monaghan (surname)? Ah come on! Reverting this many is a bit much! Fergananim (talk) 16:33, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Try

With this edit you modified the syntax of the template but didn't bother to update the instructions. Please be sure to do both in future. Better still, wait for a consensus before changing such a high-profile template. P.S. Same goes for {{kick}}. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:22, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Consensus is not formed in eight hours between two people. Please wait a week or so before you start rolling out your version of consensus. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:30, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Bold, but now reverted, so time to be patient and wait for discussions and consensus to evolve. (By the way, you're no longer in the top 200 active Wikipedians). The Rambling Man (talk) 20:35, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

2009–10 FA Cup

Hi there. I noticed you reverted my edit on the 2009/10 FA Cup article. My edit brought it into line with the other FA Cup season articles which consistently use "Semi-finals" instead of "Semi-Finals". In short, I'm not quite sure why you reverted my edit, but I'd be happy to discuss. Italia2006 (talk) 16:36, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

What's the deal?

Can you please be more specific on the edis you made here, and here, because I couldn't understand it. You first said that there needed to be a rationale in order for it to be on the List of Family Guy episodes article. I then added it, and re-added the image on the article. You later complain the next day that the rationale is invalid to your point of view because of decoration. There are many lists that have the show's logo on it, so that doesn't really makes sense to me. Blurred Lines 00:57, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

Edit warring warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Family Guy episodes. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. EvergreenFir (talk) 04:49, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

PS - apologies for templating a regular. Should have looked more closely. But you do appear to be at 3 reverts. I started a discussion on the article's talk page. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:00, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

Welsh or English flag

Hi. I saw my edit at Trinidad and Tobago national football team had been undone and I just wanted to know if you know something I dont know? Cardiff City can not be registered for Wales and play in PL i think?

From what I know he teams should have the flag of the association they belong to (or did belong to during that competition). Cardiff City plays for the English Football Association (FA) and represents England in eurpean competitions and should therefore have a English flag. It is the same for Swansea that has English flag in 2013–14 UEFA Europa League even though the team is from Wales. The same also applies for example AS Monaco that plays in France. QED237 (talk) 22:59, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Okay I think I get it. They are clearly members of Wales football assoc, but It is very confusinbg to have one flag for the team on one place and then have an other flag in an other place, but I guess it is the best thing to do. 23:35, 28 January 2014 (UTC)QED237 (talk)

Armando Lozano

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me in fixing Armando Lozano's club statistics section, i created a section for his 2014 stats and as Red Bulls are in 4 competitions this year the four categories need to be filled, however I am only able to fill that section by using the following:

|rowspan="2" align=center valign=center|New York Red Bulls |!colspan="2"|2014 !-!!-!!-!!-!!-!!-!!-!!-!!-!!- |-

However, !! will bold the figures, when i put || it does not work. Thanks (Elopez76) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elopez76 (talkcontribs) 15:04, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

We don't do this. Nobody does this. It implies that those who belong to ethnic minorities are somehow less French/British/German/American than those who are of the white majority. You mention these things in the body ("Early Life" etc). 84.54.170.20 (talk) 03:19, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi there PJ, AL "here",

i think that we can do without the CLUB BRUGGE KV PLAYERS category in this guy's article. Why? Because he finally did not get a license, and is now fully retired. I also have my doubts about EXPATRIATE FOOTBALLERS IN BELGIUM as a consequence.

What's your input on this? Best wishes as always --AL (talk) 14:22, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Run-in with a gringo

Hi there PJ, AL "here",

per this message to the Brazilian user (please see here http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User_talk:Gringoladomenega#Nery_Castillo), my two cents: first of all, i saw that message on his talkpage before i wrote my last, but thought nothing of it until he came to me without me asking anything. Now, for the technicalities: he mentioned to me he fixed overlinking amongst other things in Nery Castillo's piece, and was reverted. Isn't overlinking unadvised per WP guidelines (i.e. if you write Rayo Vallecano once in storyline, then you don't do it again, you write "Rayo Vallecano" without the [[]] or "Rayo")? I really thought so...

  • No apologies needed, come on man! At a quick glance, article does not contain any overlinking, so i'd have to say "nice work" to whomever it is due ;) --AL (talk) 23:54, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited James Garvey, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Preston and Frank Barrett (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Well let's stop being polite

You're wrong. I have been working on various infobox projects and flatlists are the only appropriate time items should be displayed on two lines. When items are on the same line and separated by commas, second and subsequent use should not be capitalized. WP:MOSLIST, particularly WP:UBLIST and "Horizontal lists".

You're also rude and a bully and the most frustrating editors to work with on Wikipedia. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:23, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Episode guide vs official website

I'm kind of uncertain whether we should go by the book guide or by the official website for the Simpsons. For example, in the official website's page for A Star Is Born Again, they have it listed without the hypen. Both are official sources, but the website is presumably the more up to date of the two. Presumably, mind you. Has there been a discussion anywhere as to which source we should use in cases such as this? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:04, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello PeeJay2K3. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I think we need a clear consensus that your source is the preferred source. Thank you. GedUK  12:47, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Simpsons page moves / deletions

I've declined all your db-moves on the Simpsons pages because we need a clear consensus than I can find that the Ultimate Guide is the preferred source. I'm not going to nudo the moves you've already made, but can I suggest that you don't move any more/request more moves until The Simpsons wikiproject agrees the preferred title/source. Thanks.
