The links to ArenaFan were just as relevant to the pages as the official team sites due to the information on those pages. Obviously you didn't bother to look at those pages on ArenaFan before you removed the links. I will be putting them back on the team page listings for all AFL and af2 teams since they are extremely relevant. In addition, many of those URLs were not put in by me, but by other people who edited the pages, most of whom I do not even know. It should also be noted that I do add and edit the pages for content, mostly fixing errors submitted by people who know little about the subject matter, and my source for many of those modifications is ArenaFan. Finally, I can site hundreds of instances where similar links are provided all across wikipedia in a similar manner. Nolesrule 00:57, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While I appreciate the desire to promote one's website, it's Wikipedia style to avoid adding links to your own site (see #3 here). I'm not disputing that there may have been others that added your links, but a reasonable sample showed that they were added by you. There are several other links to mainstream media sites [1][2][3], all of which do not belong here either. By linking to your site here, it increases your visibility on Google (ranks which are determined by the number of links to it). That is frowned upon here. All of that said, I have left some of your links in where there was a sufficient reason to leave them in, especially in historical contexts. (I have, indeed, bothered to look at the pages on Arenafan.) But don't be surprised to see someone else remove them. I also have noted that you do edit Wikipedia in a responsible way otherwise, which I do appreciate. Thanks for your contributions. —Twigboy 14:46, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Af2 Expansion

Thank you, but Long Beach Cal. and these small but lucrative markets were considered before. No problem, the team owners went for other indoor football leagues. The Inland Empire, Cal. region, Arizona and four countries (the UK, Japan, Mexico and Puerto Rico) pulled out of the AFL/af2 expansion options... they have arenas too small or unequipped (or the cost of remodeling them); and great travel distances, plus hour difference for overseas AFL/af2 teams. I'd sure the failed World League of football done this international representation in the 1990s, when they had teams in The UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. Today, the surviving European teams are called NFL Europe as a summer football league featured some notable NFL athletes on a "working vacation"...travel the country and work/play the game. + 63.3.14.130 also known as Mike D 26 04:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC) 04:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ran into a problem. I decided to check the local sites (including http://www.kndu.com and http://www.tri-cityherald.com. You were right about no mention about the uniform change, but I DID see the KNDU newscast on 1/05/07 and they did say that the Fever were returning to their old colors and logo because of negative feedback (I do live where the Fever play. I guess that the new colors and helmet may end up on eBay soon). But it's nice to know that you're such a fan of arena football. I have yet to see a Fever game live in the Toyota Center but I am proud of the team, especially when they won the NIFL championship in their first season (I guess that the Spokane Shock decided to do the same in af2 last summer).   • I think that there was no update because it was the beginning of the weekend and didn't have time to update the Fever webpage. I'll see if I can bug the Fever's front office on Monday and ask if they can update the page. BTW, you might want to end your messages with "~" four times, so that people know who sent the message. Only one of them I did; see this diff. That was on the Georgia Force division record, I see. But for Dallas' and San Jose's division records, they still read as 1.000. That's the only problem that I have seen and in my opinion it would've been better for you to just change that to 1.000 instead of reverting my edit, which took a while to do. --Ksy92003 (talk) 01:44, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is in response to this edit you made: [4]. You said in your edit summary, "[P]layoff results only, not listing every round." Well. look at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. For its "Season-by-season" section, it does say (for 2004 and 2005) whom they won against. Why did you revert me on Los Angeles Avengers when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers has it the other way? And just so you know, according to Talk:Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, that article is a part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Arena Football League. So, which was is it supposed to be? I think that it is important to show every round of the postseason.

When I went to Los Angeles Avengers, I saw that it only said, "Lost Week 2." So, I really wanted to know whom they beat in Round 1. I didn't know that they had a Bye because it didn't say it. Do you understand what I'm saying? If it doesn't say, how is anybody supposed to know? If the current way according to the project is to not list every single round, I think it should be changed so that we do show every single round. Please reply on my talk page. I am aware of the development of season pages. When the opportunity arises, I will begin the Los Angeles Avengers' season pages. I just want to know, since the Avengers might make the playoffs, if I should only include one round of playoffs in the season records. This seems weird because if somebody lost in the ArenaBowl, it would only say, "Lost ArenaBowl [...]," but not mention any of the playoff rounds that they've actually won. Orphaned non-free image (Image:IndianaFirebirds.gif)

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Project News

-Needs-

  • Articles for the more popular and "star" players of the league need to be expanded, have citations added to them and hopefully we can get some GA's out of them.
  • All articles on active players and coaches need to be updated with stats, news, and all things important. (Note: For stats it's best to use ArenaFan.)
  • Also, we NEED to get things done so we can take them off of the to do list.

-New-

  • Standardized roster templates have been created for ALL AFL teams.
  • New tables have been added to each team article for coaches. It is broken down into six columns. Column one is for the name of the head coach. Column two is for the coachs tenure there. Column three is the coaches regular season win/loss record (ONLY while with THAT team). Column four is for the coaches post season win/loss record (ONLY while with THAT team). Column five is for the coaches most recent coaching staff (if the coach is no longer there, list the coaches last coaching staff), with years that the coaching staff members have been there, the term coaching staff ONLY applies to Offensive Coordinator (to be listed as OC), Defensive Coordinator (to be listed as DC), Special Teams Coordinator (to be listed as ST Coordinator), Fullbacks coach (to be listed as FB coach), Linebackers Coach (to be listed as LB coach), Offensive line coach (to be listed as OL coach), Defensive line coach (to be listed as DL), Wide receivers Coach (to be listed as WR coach), Defensive backs Coach (to be listed as DB coach). And coach that coaches multiple positions is to be listed as QB / FB coach, with a / between each position. Also, the list should start with Offensive Coordinator, then Defensive Coordinator. Place line break (<br>) after each coaching staff members name, and between coaching positions (should the column become wider than what looks good). Column six is for notes about the head coach during their tenure with that team only. Lastly, be sure not to make the columns too wide, if the column becomes wider than what looks good, place a line break (<br>) in the sentence/note.

  • Our goal is to get the number of Stub-Class articles down to 0, in due time. The current article count is listed below, I have placed the forumla that is on the project page that is updated everytime the bot is run and it tallies up our articles and where they are and lists them as seen below, so that no one has to worry about making sure it's updated manually before the newsletter is sent out. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help expand and/or source an article or two. A list is provided in the stub-class category of stub articles that need to be improved, and some should be fairly easy.
