[edit] Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 22:11, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. I understand Wikipedia should it be used for advertising or promotion, however the citation contains correct information on Mutual consent divorce in India under Hindu Marriage Act 1955. I may be affiliated to this entity, however i believe it is my contribution to add relevant paragraph regarding Mutual Consent divorce (which is missing from this article) supported by correct legal information. Being a qualified Indian lawyer, i can say the information in edits was correct.
- I am new to Wikipedia editing, and till now have merely used Wikipedia for references. I saw similar other citation (Divorce#cite note-101) hence i thought it would be good to add certain citation to edits made. I must make it clear i have no intention or requirement for advertising or promotion on Wikipedia.
- With all due respect, you are more experienced in understanding how edits can be made, i leave it to your consciousness, whether edit made by me should stay or not on Wikipedia. Thank you. Lwrvivek (talk) 22:31, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Your website does not meet Wikipedia's sourcing requirements as given in WP:RS. In addition, your edit was in violation of WP:COI and WP:SPAM. Kindly do not add links to your own website again. MrOllie (talk) 22:35, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- If a qualified lawyer can't make edit or refer correct information, then who would correct / add content related to legal provisions. If at all the link to my website does not meet Wikipedia's sourcing requirements, but how the content added was spam.
- If any contribution by qualified expert in the field of law is SPAM, then i think i must stay out of editing / adding any correct legal information on the platform. Lwrvivek (talk) 22:43, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. MrOllie (talk) 20:46, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- You could have removed external cite link, in that case. There is no reason to revert the content, which in no way would relate to me. It is merely for improvement of information on this page. I understand addition to links won't alter search engine rankings, So you can kindly revert the content added, and choose to remove the external link, if you think this external link is cited for advertisement (Though it was cited only for reference to relevant information) Lwrvivek (talk) 20:50, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- You have also reverted another edit. Again that information was also relevant for that particular page. It seems you don't want Wikipedia pages to have new and up to date information. Not everything is SPAM. The content is not SPAM. As far as links to page HINDU MARRIAGE ACT are concerned reference to ""Mutual Consent Divorce in India". Lawrato. Retrieved 14 September 2023." also is made to a commercial law directory website, you have not reverted that link, but reverted/ removed relevant information added to Section 14 of Hindu Marriage Act, which could have been beneficial for someone. I don't understand your agenda, not to allow Wikipedia pages to be edited by Experts in their field. If you want Wikipedia pages to improve you must revert the content back. - You are clearly spamming your own site onto Wikipedia. Consult WP:RS and cite sources that meet Wikipedia's requirements from now on. If you continue as you have been, you can expect that your account will be blocked and/or your site will be added to Wikipedia's spam blacklist. MrOllie (talk) 21:29, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Do you have any comments on ""Mutual Consent Divorce in India". Lawrato. Retrieved 14 September 2023." added to page Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Is this legitimate, and other links to law firm websites. Eg.
- "Hindu Court Marriage in Delhi". Courtmarriageindia.org. Retrieved 5 June 2018
- "The Hindu Marriage Act 1955". vakilno1.com. Archived from the original on 18 March 2013. Retrieved 27 August 2015.
- Marriage Laws (Amendment), Divorce
- Mutual Divorce under Hindu Marriage Act
- All these external links point to law firm websites. Are these not SPAM, or you couldn't spot these?, and pick and choose the information added by me. Lwrvivek (talk) 21:56, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Please focus on your own additions and less about other inappropriate links that might or might not be on this site - I have not personally had a chance to review every link on Wikipedia. This is a rather big website, you know. MrOllie (talk) 22:01, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
