AIV report of Igcar.fan
[edit]You reported Igcar.fan to WP:AIV. Generally users can only be blocked after they have recieved a warning which mentions they may be blocked and they continue to do so. Since this user appears to be attempting to discuss the issue on Talk:IGCAR, I have left them a sterner warning instead of a block. If they continue to insert their commentary into the article, you may re-report them. —dgiestc 06:27, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Source added- a tertiary source
[edit]Hi,
One person has added a tertiary source Ahobila Mutt in the Iyengar article. The source was found on two other sources not mentioned in the wiki article Ahobila Mutt. But it is a credible source. Please do not delete it. Thanks. Svr014 (talk) 20:10, 24 June 2009 (UTC) Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Please undo the change you made
[edit]Srikanth,
Please undo the change you made to the article Iyengar. It is authentic in my opinion and I sincerely believe seeing those statements regarding the different racial origins of Vadakalai and Thenkalai Iyengars in a website many weeks ago. I am not able to recall the site now. Can you please look over various sources on the internet that talk about the racial origins of Iyengars? Awaiting your reply. Rules in general, and info about Vadakalai Iyengars and Vadama Iyers
[edit]Please do not remove material with references attached to them. I have reverted the edit you made as you had removed the material which had sources. Please note that Vadakalai Iyengars and Vadama Iyers have some gothras in common and both groups emphasize sanskrit literature while doing almost all prayers. These two groups tend to have overlapping lineage in the brahminical tradition. Also, please note that Aryan migration started from North India to all the states in the South which include Kerala. Many present-day brahmins who live in Tamil Nadu have migrated from Kerala. I myself had talked with some Vadakalai Iyengars who have lived in Kerala for many decades. If you remove the material with sources again, you will be blocked on WP for several weeks. Also, read the article on deductive reasoning. Now you will understand the articles on Vadama Iyer and Vadakalai Iyengar better. Svr014 (talk) 14:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC) Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Replied. User:Svr014 is a sockpuppet of blocked User:Vyaghradhataki. Same POV, same unsourced claims.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 13:51, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
I disagree. I am a new user and am NOT a sockpuppet. Talk to any admin that knows my account history well. Ravi, you will be blocked for incivility if you make abyssmal claims about me. Again, I am a new user and I do not know who Vyaghradhataki was. Svr014 (talk) 15:40, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, accusing someone of sockpuppetry is more incivil than calling some a bud, labelling valuable contributions as "rubbish" and questioning someone's caste.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 13:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Ravichandar84, I apologize for not being able to communicate my responses to your posts. Please accept my sincere apology. I used the word bud in the pretext that you may be 'immature'. This word does not have any derogatory meaning. Also, please make sure that the sources you select for articles do not contain any typos (errors). I never meant any offense to any editor like you and me. I do not want to carry the can as there is ambiguity in general on some articles on WP. I respect your contributions and I admire some contributions. Also, please read http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers. This article clearly mentions editors not to use disparaging names like sockpuppet or meatpuppet at newcomers. Hope you will find it useful. Again, I request you to understand me and please do not be angry at me. Thanks Svr014 (talk) 17:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Please note that I did not question somebody's religion, caste, creed, or sexual orientation in a bad manner. I used the words "Just out of curiosity", and "If" in my posts. Please try to understand what these words mean in English language. I respect all editors at WP which include Indian editors. I am new to Indian articles on WP. I learn information from Tamilians on articles about Iyer and Iyengar as they would know more about these groups. Please assume good faith in my posts, please read WP:AGF. I wish you well. I mean well for you, Srikanth and other editors. I am a newbie and have decided to retire. Do not know when I will be back. Good luck in your editing. God bless the world! Thanks. Re:Thiruvallur district taluk
[edit]I feel that taluk articles are definitely eeded. We cannot have all the stats in the ones for district articles. Besides, there has been a great deal of confusion due to district level heads being mentioned in articles related to the principal city in the district, etc. I feel that the available info should be properly disseminated.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 10:03, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Aashayein foundation
[edit]Hi,
I am Shashank, writer of the article for Aashayein foundation. While looking at the logs I found that you have added the COI "Conflict Of Interest" tag at the top of the article. Can you tell me what is the COI regarding this article?
Thanks, Shashank —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shashanksoni13 (talk • contribs) 22:09, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Shashank, Please read WP:COI. I felt that the article's tone was promotional and was more of advertisement. I felt you had an interest in promoting it and hence tagged COI on Aashayein foundation. Please read WP:PROMOTION and WP:NOT. Other than that, if you could make references inline and change the tone to be WP:NPOV, it would be great. Thanks Srikanth (speak) 05:33, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:41, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Reg this article, i see two pages indicating the same thing. While it is widely accepted that Thirukazhukundram refers to the hill(infact the name of the place is derived from it only - this is true for most places in TN) & the temple, recent denotion refers to the place. I will create separate article on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ssriram mt (talk • contribs) 11:49, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

ind_knight: article teesta seetalwad
[edit]you have undone the bolding of certain words in the article teesta sitalwad. why is so. if SIT has claimed it and claims said that what she has done regarding cooking of false tales, it realy means that committed act is not good for judiciary as well as secular idealogy of india. if something she has done wrong is in bolds then you should not have any problem. --Ind knight (talk) 05:17, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Wikimedia Stories Project
[edit]Hello,
My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.
I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).
My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.
I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!
If you are interested in participating, please contact me via my email:
vgrigas@wikimedia.org
Thank you for your time!
Victor

Help needed for a citation
[edit]At Academi#Non-Iraq_services, after the line, "The Obama administration awarded Academi a $250 million contract to work for the U.S. State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan.", a citation is provided [(http://www.thenation.com/blog/36756/blackwaters-new-sugar-daddy-obama-administration)]. It is from a widely read magazine's online blog written by a commentator with ~50000 followers. Even though the statement is not exactly collaborated in the blog article, please suggest if such a reference can be used on wikipedia at all, as personal blogs are generally not allowed on wikipedia.
