Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, LiverpoolJohnLennonAirport, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 10mmsocket (talk) 10:42, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've not changed any of the wording, I have simply amended the logo to the current one. The old logo, which is displayed on the current Wikipedia page, has been retired and is no longer being used. This is now false representation of the airport brand, and we have tried several times now to update the logo, but it keeps being [incorrectly] reverted.
This is not a conflict of interest. As you can see on our official website (https://www.liverpoolairport.com/) the logo we are trying to update the Wikipedia with is the current one. LiverpoolJohnLennonAirport (talk) 11:12, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:47, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What on Earth are you doing? We are not seeking to change the wording, merely update an old logo (which we now revoke the usage of).
Instead, it is better to reflect the current logo so that the Wikipedia page is not showing outdated information.
It is difficult to upload the new logo on a non-organisation account when you ask that any logos are with permission of the owner. So you either don't have permission for each and every logo on this website, or everyone who has ever posted a logo on here is in breach. Any logo can be displayed on Wikipedia with an appropriate fair use rationale. As the subject of the article, you really shouldn't be uploading / changing anything on Wikipedia itself, however your upload of the new logo on Wikimedia Commons under an appropriate licence is a good thing and that logo can be added - I'll do it myself in fact. 10mmsocket (talk) 11:20, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
