Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello Ikester, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alphax τεχ 01:42, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wikipedia:Votes_for_undeletion#CastleCops

[edit]

Hi there. I've looked at the undeletion request again and have modified my vote slightly. I've written a comment/explanation along with my vote to clarify my interpretation of the purposes of the VfU process. -Splash 21:26, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

And by the way, no, there isn't a time limit before you can resubmit an article as long as the resubmission is not "substantially identical" to the original. -Splash 21:39, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

CastleCops

[edit]

I undeleted it, see User:Ikester/CastleCops.  Grue  07:01, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mailwasher

[edit]

Hi Ikester, you may remember me from the Mailwasher support forums!

I created a page Mailwasher a little while ago with links from a few of the anti-spam pages here. But somebody has now added a 'Notability' tag to it and another editor has deleted the links I put on the E-mail filtering article. But the links for PopFile and similar have remained untouched. It seems some here do not feel Mailwasher deserves it own article!! Perhaps you can look at my article and expand it, though we clearly don't want to make it just a plug for Firetrust or duplicate information in the castlecops wiki. I had thought about posting requests for input on the MW support forum but that apparently is also considered not a good idea by Wikipedia...

Thanks Dsergeant 10:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I was not logged in for a really long time

In 2005, you asked me a question on the InfoboxEditor. Are you still interested? --Dscho 16:48, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Repost of CastleCops

[edit]

Information icon A tag has been placed on CastleCops requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you.
